I recommend checking out S1 NET on milsuite…they have a whole array of tracking tools for orderly rooms and BN/BDE S-1s.

I have an APFT tracker I built that will tell you when your people are coming up due, give you a by name list, identify top performers, and provide you with your company average. Message me and I will sent it to you.

AKO E-forms has been amazing in my battalion as a way to track the location and status of awards and NCOER's. Basically, the submitter makes the form and sends it to next level for signatures/corrections. The S1, originator, and signer all get a CC and there is a trail showing when it was opened, returned, signed etc.

If you are familiar with Access you can have a database that will track all the inprocessing data/ personnel info. If you're a little bit ninja you can have your Career Counselor send you a PERDB pull for your company and use that to generate your database with almost no typing involved.

Look for a process improvement expert or office at higher headquarters. They should have tools and techniques that can help. Message me and I’ll provide some help also.

Either excel based trackers or white board trackers where one could easily see where the paper work is etc.
