Why...WHY Rally Point...why won't the "unfollow discussion" button work? I'm begging you, please make the "2LT saluting a 1LT" discussion die.

Even if they went through and deleted every discussion on this site, it would sneak it's way back. It has become more than a discussion, it has taken on a life of its own and become self aware, I'm convinced that it won't allow itself to be stopped.

You'd be surprised on what behaviors can be programmed into machines these days including self preservation. Oh and SSG, even though we're organic we're still made up of protons, electrons, and atoms. So yes they can think.

I guess the only thing that the supper computer doesn't have is feelings. It is impossible for any programmer or electronics engineer to develop 64 precepts into a computer. Much more the true ability to think on its own as we do. We may talk to a computer and listen to its reply back, but that is based on it being program to reply as such only. That system doesn't have a brain smart enough to think for it's self nor involve feelings into that discussion. While we as humans are made up is protons and electrons, what a computer lacks is the human spirit.
This would be a very interesting topic to discus, but if we did that we would be Hijacking SSG Woods thread.
But to conclude Yes I do know what you mean, Cpl Fernandez and SGT Sullivan.

Maybe the way to make it stop is for somebody to issue ironclad opinion about whether 2LTs should salute 1LTs......oh, wait, didn't we have a discussion about that already? ;-)

Didnt we have a BG comment on that thread about saluting? I am pretty sure his opinion on the subject for better or worse counts the law unless countermanded by higher authority (outside the already substantial evidence in regulation pointing to the fact they should salute)

I love this. I had no clue any of this was going on. I can see that I may have not been well liked initially but thanks to the unfollow button I am now. I am curious of that question was the driving force for the unfollow button.
