It is the hardest thing to say "I love you", a million times, to a grave.
This is the reality the loved ones of the Soldier, the Sailor, the Marine and the Airmen that made the ultimate sacrifice, endures for the rest of their lives.
That last phone call may have been an argument that will never be settled.
A letter that was mailed, but was never opened.
For others it may have been a simple goodnight that never saw the morning.
Out of 7 Billion "I love yous" that will be said on May 26, 2014.
About 1,321,612 will go unanswered.
Another 38,159 go missing because they were never found.
If you feel that you don't have a reason to live that Day or any other day. I can give you 1,321,612 reasons why you should be thankful. And another 38, 159 reasons why you should dedicate your life to something much more meaningful than your selfishness.
Because 1,359,771 families can never hear their Fallen or Missing Soldier, Sailor, Marine or Airmen say "I love you" in return.
