After 70 years of uncertainty, Charles J. Jones finally returned to his hometown of Athens and was laid to rest Saturday.

Welcome home brother. It may have taken a long time, but the closure that has been provided to the family is the greatest feeling that they can have at this point. If only it could have been earlier enough for his immediate family to receive the news and not have to wonder what might have happened. It seems as though a lot of effort went in to getting this plane out of the jungle and identifying the remains. I for one am glad we have good hearted people that are willing to do this sort of thing and bring our fallen brothers and sisters home and bring closure to their families.
