Most memorable military "movie discrepancies"?

Ah yes, we've all seen them; "so, there you were" in a theater or a room full of service members or veterans, one minute everything's ok, then all of a sudden there it is... the over-the-top military movie discrepancy! So, what was that moment that stands out most in your mind? What are those associated memories or stories that come to mind? Did the base theater erupt into 'chaos' over an unkempt/incorrect uniform, improper language/jargon/ customs, or was there something that was just plain 'unsat' from a military point-of-view. lol Well, there's a ton of them out there, and I'm pretty sure that something should immediately come to mind, so what are we waiting for? Quick, pull up a keyboard, and let's get this thing started; thanks for all that you do, and... see you all in the discussion threads!

Most Michael Bay movies that Air Force Security Forces are in. Armageddon Security Forces members take control of computers in space command must likely just to check facebook post. Then let strippers on a flightline of a PL1 resource another hell to the no. How about Transformers. Helicopter lands every Security Forces shows up and sets up a 360 around it with .50 calls, 240B and 249s and what do they all do start firing without looking at the backdrop. Good thing they all killed each other before the robot killed them. Then theres Ironman once again SF member hanging out with Tony Starks contact left, what does Airman Spongebob do. Gets out the truck on the contacted side. Smart enough to join the Air Force not smart enough for the Air Force.

After my time in Iraq, I have a hard time watching any war movie anymore. I just can't do it. My take on all of them has changed. Remember, movies are for entertainment and the reality of "it" is not entertainment. I can understand, a little, the movie industry's morale/propaganda movies during World War Two; back then Americans paid for the war and war bonds were important. The Movie industry helped in this endeavor; but today, none of it works.

The key to remember is that they are just movies. I've done the same as everyone here and still do--point out the discrepancies until my wife tells me the same, "it's a movie"! Truthfully, it's know as artistic license to embellish the truth and try to pull the untrue nonsense over are collective eyes. Just accept that you know better, but there are civilians out there who don't know any better and accept nonsense as gospel.

So let's be honest with ourselves... if you want 100% accuracy... watch a documentary. Even our most loved military movies have a great deal of inaccuracies. Some of which are obvious and seem to be done either in disregard or on purpose. Others are subtle and meant to present a "what-if" scenario. Everybody talking about Rambo, for example. I don't know a single person, veteran or otherwise, that actually believes that what John Rambo is doing is anywhere near according to standard. In fact, the movie itself is an entire dialog about what it would look like if this one-man army was able to pull it off.

Movies are made to make money, not give correct information although some of it may be factual most of it remains to be seen. I always watch movies with a grain of salt but then again "Know your History" and talk to those that have been there; but it is fun to look for all the discrepancies.
