"VA's April 21 proposal is detailed in a letter from Sloan Gibson, deputy VA secretary, to members of Congress. It would shuffle money inside a $5 billion fund that was created last year as part of the "Choice Act," a bill passed by Congress that is meant to help solve the systemwide problems that lead to last year's national scandal about patients' waiting times."

SPC Jan Allbright, M.Sc., R.S. For some Vets have a choice makes a difference. Especially if in rural areas. This article sounds more like money shuffling that the VA personnel trying to provide care can do little about.

No kidding ..
The nearest VA Hosp to me is only 31 as the crow flies but 55 miles as the crow walks with an empty gas can.
One of the reasons that 40 mile limit was a bit farcical!
