If I was to try and use one word to say; brave, honest, tough, courageous, elite, bad a$$, motivated, war machine, what would that one word be?
Honerable, Hero or American just don't do the trick.

Had an interesting question come into my head while sitting at work today. The question, can you sum up your military experience into just one word? If so, what is that one word?
Think of this as part of an exercise to build your personal elevator pitch you need to deliver when you go on an interview. You want to be quick and to the point. So can you? I know several words come to my mind to sum up my 8. 5 years. Words like crazy, fast, surprising, confusing, exciting, interesting, and terrifying all come to my mind, but if I had to pick just one, I would pick crazy.

Sgt Joshua Ray You mean like "Gibraltar", or "Patton"? This would be quite difficult as many proper nouns could fit this as one word, but would create confusion if the reader doesn't follow the logic of the choice of word selected, so in the end, it would seem you would have to select one that many are familiar with or lose the flow of the reading trying to figure out how it is appropriate. Great mental exercise though.

I am thinking he wants more of a salutations with a proper noun or just an addressee that combines the words and meanings from the orginal question. I was going to address it as just Hi Marine but even here at Camp Pendleton we are not 100% Marine. Warrior is one that was mentioned I kind of like but he didn't so much.

@ SGT Dave Mears, Why the vote down? Is there something about the word "Selfless" that doesn't sit well with you? Just curious...

Those are some good nouns I could use. It has to be able to address all branches though.

Sgt Joshua Ray, in OTS it was "steely-eyed killer". As in "I just don't feel like a steely-eyed killer today".
