I PCS’d to Korea for a 1 year unaccompanied tour and will be PCSing at the begging of August to my next duty station. I will not get to my next duty station until the middle of August after a 1 week of leave for home, my unit that I will be PCSing too will be deploying in June so 2 months before I arrive to the unit, and I wanted to know if there is a chance that I could get deployed with my unit even though they will already be at the deployment location, and I also wanted to know about the dwell time of 6 months I have been hearing about because of the one year tour in Korea and if that will be put in affect for when I get to my duty station?

You may be deployed at the end of your dwell, that's up to your command team.

There is a chance but this far out there is no solid answer.

Am I able to say no if they do ask to deploy me since the regulations state that I’m not supposed to deploy for 6 months after a 1 year unaccompanied tour?

I hope you don't really mean that! If you have a document that allows you to dwell for six months" before any deployment, your unit commander will NOT violate that. Keep in mind as a Soldier that the Army doesn't ask. This is why the black on white 8X11 sheet of paper called "ORDERS".

My unit is deploying 2 months before I get there. Will I deploy with them, even though I heard about a 6-month dwell time AR 614-30 (Korea)?

In my opinion you would need to complete SRP, they might wanna train you up a bit in the rear. Until your cleared to deploy but the commands goal is to have every healthy soldier deploy. I met my unit in Iraq after a Hernia. So yea I believe it is possible.

They will send you when your dwell is up unless you waive it

the nine months of dwell time Is true. However, you can waive that dwell time and deploy if you’d like.

It’s supposed to be in Afghanistan, and they said we get 6 months of dwell time after leaving Korea

PFC (Join to see) well then 6 months. You more than likely won’t deploy because by that time they will be coming back from their 9 month tour

A more serious answer is I've known units to simply reassign soldiers or detached them till they come back. Call your 1SG, that's kinda his job to account for all troops for his CO.
