Another access to your nearest CVSO, TVSO, or VSO is
https://www.va.gov/ogc/apps/accreditation/
CVSO are paid by our counties, TVSO by their Tribe, VSO by the veteran organization they work for. Basically the same just CVSOs and TVSOs can be accredited with multiple VSO organizations.

I am pretty sure I went to the correct site and it doesn't appear there are any CVSOs in Washington State. Is that correct?

Does a CVSO have to be in the same location as the veteran?

Do you do any work with vets who are not local? I went to Seattle, WA Reg. Office and walked into the DAV. The VSAO asked me about what claim I was filing and named a handful. His response, "the only ones you can claim on are an increase in Type 1 Diabetes (already service-connected) and Major Depressive Disorder." I found someone on another veteran forum who I've given access to my medical records and she has found 23 claims located in my veteran and AD military records. To my knowledge she is not a VSO or a claims agent but was given training during a military contract as a nurse case manager.

Nearly all of the groundwork has been laid for my claims. What further help would a VSO or claim agent be at this point and/or is it critical to obtain someone different than I already have with DAV?

There are as many reasons as stars on our flag that your claim is taking longer than a few months. VA's standard is any injury or illness, caused by or aggravated during service, that is a CHRONIC detractor to your quality or life or employability, and that has a CURRENT DIAGNOSIS. And of course there is the evidence issue, remember a claim is a legal action and laws apply. The application and all supporting evidence needs to be right the first time in or VA, by law, is required to notify you what can (should) be submitted, "duty to assist" is the legal term. So if you have copies of your service medical records, civilian records since you got out for the condition you are claiming, they need to go with the application. If you claim an injury that you did not seek treatment for or sought treatment for at another base or on leave and it may not be in your official medical record, then you need "Buddy" statements. If you did not seek a lot of medical care after service cuz you were sucking it up and driving on or knew it would mean anti-inflammatories and missed time at work so you self treated, then family, friends, employers,.. can write the statements. But one of the most common mistakes is the CURRENT DIAGNOSIS! PTSD without mental health records and a clear (Psychologist's) diagnosis in accordance with DSM 5 means you do not have PTSD. It's like claiming screwed up back but never had an x-ray/MRI.
Meet your CVSO for help. We are veterans, we train every year, we are paid by your county/local government so we are free!

I have a proof of Line of Duty document and five others being hidden at V.A. St. Louis Records Management Center Customer Service Division since June 1997. After ten years of a employee and junior supervisor refusing me these documents and threatening to erase, shred, delete, redact, password, the entire time the chief of Customer no Service Division tells me she knows her two IDiots are also HIDING Medical documents of four other non disclosed Veterans. That she will not honor or fill the latest of my request for these specific so. Medical al records be ause her boss is friends with her two IDiots and has threatened her job if she gives me my Records. Or reports junior for sleeping on job. They have all lied to Congressional investigators, probably the President when I asked for an Executive Order to have a complete copy of Everything at that V.A. Facility. Recently I received a letter from. Chief of Customer no Service stating it will take Nine months to add all documents to CD and ship to me. Or is it for her to retire? It has been twenty years now and I have many Secondary Injuries because right knee injury went in treated and became a trick k nee. There has been ten falls and damage to my spine, nerves. Shoulder knees and broken bones.Financial hard ship abounds because of criminal Conspiracy at V.A. St. Louis Records y Center Customer Service Division. Chief No told me that this stuff goes on all the time. Her idiot said he he thinks that I am another black guyhe served with in Panama Invasion while at fort ord.I still cannot get these records.

Email me.. [login to see] -lake.wi.us i will then ask for some personal info from you and make calls on my part. I have a contact there and MIGHT be able to help you.
Yes....ALL record requests are openly stated to take about 90 days to process. Usually take almost all 90 days too... the only exception that i have seen are those whose records were burned in 73.
Your color has nothing to do with this. Well, on my part anyway. We need to get past this whole color thing. Were ALL born American and that is what we are.. I can only speculate as to why your having problems with your records.
I suffered some traumatic injurues which the NCOA at ISAJFKSWCS tried to hide and has refused me ALL LOD investigation documents, eouldnt even let me see them, was the BDE safety guy that showed me the results.
Technically, they dont have to provide them, are within their responsibility to redact certain info such as nes, locations and specifics of the event, and will fight like hell to prevent the disclosure of documents that migjt get someone investigated or busted esp if senior rank or now in a political position.
This might be bigger than the va. We will talk and i promise to try to help you.

The army might have been a way of life, for me that was a job. Now this job as a CVSO, I still service people though finally, it's our own. To me, it is not a job, because it's something I like to do. It's a passion!
RP says your still serving, so the thanks for what you do, should belong to you.
Thank you though..
