I know it's early, but we've got a full plate of new candidates wanting to be the new POTUS. It's up to everyone to fact check these candidates on their background and support them if they support us. If someone knows the Democratic or 3rd party candidates, they can post who they think will be a good contender, but I'm going to list a few Republican/Libertarian candidates. Who do you see as front runner?

Im going to say Rand Paul because he probably has learned what not to do from his father. And he has been saying things to appease folks. Not at all interested in Rick Perry or Chris Christie. And I think Jeb Bush is going to throw his hat in the ring.

Jeb's not a bad guy. His last name could help carry him or pull him down. Immigration will be his big issue.

Jerry Brown. He should be able to bankrupt the country quickly. all jokes aside if the GOP selects Rand Paul*not likely* I might vote for him.

I used to support Rand Paul, sadly he has been showing himself to be quite two faced in order to win the position. I hope that is just politicking to get into the office, but it is hard to tell.

I would love to see Ben Carson take the lead and get into the office, but I fear his lack of political experience may allow many of the other "more experienced" candidates to bully him. I truly do think he might be the best candidate from all parties.

A Carson/Paul (or vice versa) ticket would be strong. Two doctors join together to heal the nation

Rand Paul has been pretty two faced lately. I still ride the Carson/Rice ticket hard.

Well, not Chris Christie...he will eat himself to death before he can run
Not Ben Carson, he is to busy on the social media to take time out to run
Not Rick Perry, EVERYONE is afraid of another Texan...lol!
Not Rand Paul, he is going to stroke out before the next election
Hopefully not our current one who will try to call a national state of emergency so we will have to 'hold off' elections...

I guess that leaves Trey Gowdy??? Hmmm, maybe John McCain will try to run again?

In all sincerity, I hope it is someone, ANYONE, who will put American first and restore some pride back into this country...

SPC(P) Jay Heenan I like Trey Gowdy's no BS approach and Southern straight shooting, but I wonder he's too hot headed for those sensitive types.

I do not care as long as it is not another liberal. In the long run the military will have to spend money to make up for shortfalls that are a consequence of political games meant to punish us. Well, we plan to make those individuals, R or D accountable to those who have served this country. I am not going to vote for a person that doesn't like us. *the military*.

People who blame the CIA and then ultimately the last president for the war and the cost of it. Then we get people here who constantly talk about respecting the office? Come on now, when have democrats every done right by us?

None of the above because I cannot get behind the objective of a candidate that supports "us" as in the military.

We're servants to the nation and its people. This has entirely subsumed my previous identity. That makes it the most important factor for me when I exercise my citizenship: Who will be best for America overall?
While pay raises are nice, I'm not hurting. While enhanced career progression via growing the force would be swell, I want to know the cost. North Korea has a government that literally puts the military first and I'm not too keen on them.

What matters to me is: What candidate offers the platform that I believe is most likely to succeed in increasing economic prosperity, better outcomes across the spectrum of society, ensuring national security (through the use of all tools of diplomacy, to include the military spectrum from deterrence through total war), and still respect the Constitution.

The perfect candidate has never existed and I see very few whom I wouldn't start punching until I stopped feeling in a bar argument about politics on the horizon. So, my vote will go to the candidate (and let's not kid ourselves, the party platform behind said candidate) who is the least noxious to the above-stated ideal.

1LT (Join to see) True. Politics itself is corrupt by nature. It's been said many times before that politicians are like dirty diapers. They need to be changed often and for the same reason. We must vote for the lesser of the 2 (or 3) evils.

Yet we're tools of the politicians. Politics is the exercise of power to suit the agenda of the interest in power. Our prowess in full spectrum operations is one of the elements politicians use to fulfill their agendas. Just the continuous existence of the best-funded large military allows our government considerable leeway on the international stage.

While we're sworn to defend the Constitution, the same creed requires us to follow all [lawful] orders. Regardless of my personal stance on a national security issue, I will faithfully execute those orders and I expect others to do the same. Further, I am not a member of any bar association. So I have to take the word of the wonks that what I'm doing is IAW the letter & spirit of the law.

Mind you, pre-WW2 Germany is not usually a good example to follow. But the idea there, as with the US officer corps in the 1950's, was that the military was apolitical. We executed our orders because they were the orders from a legitimate government that represents the will of the people as defined by our Constitution. I have many hard opinions about geopolitics, but those belong to Carl "Chuckles" Beutler and not SSG Carl Beutler.

I think your front running Democrats will be Joe Biden, Hillary Clinton, and Elizabeth Warren.

CW2 (Join to see) I don't know which of them I find more terrifying. I'm also scared due to a wide range of single issue females voters that would vote for either one simply due to her sex.

Thankfully many of the women are here are MUCH smarter than that.
