Nine congressman and one senator inspecting the office Monday said they heard a similar message during a closed-door meeting with Ruell and other employees — very different than the upbeat assessment from managers in a separate meeting.
“It seems to me there’s a bit of a disconnect between what management is saying and what many people who are working here are saying,” Rep. Charlie Dent, R-Pa., said at a press conference outside the office. During the press conference, several lawmakers pointed to an administrative investigation board report expected June 30 that will “name names” of those responsible for the scandal.
“We’re going to make some major changes — maybe fire people,” Rep. Ralph Abraham, R-La., said in an interview with Stars and Stripes.

Keep fighting the good fight. I know it seems like you are bagging your head against a wall BUT it is always darkest before the light. One thing I did learn while serving, if you are right and presented it to the people above you without action, especially with what you listed, it needs to be push higher. There is enough current scrutiny with your organization to find someone who would love your information. STAY part of the solution. WHEN this bad employee gets what they deserve, they will be an example to other and so will you.

Wondering what the percentage is when it comes to Vets vs. Non-Vet that hold positions at the VA.. especially in Management positions.

And therein lies the problem. Who takes better care of vets? Some beurocrat that's never served a day or a Vet that knows and understands what needs to be done to take care of us.

I can see why non-Vets get positions.. Just got back a notification from a job that I applied for for DHS and from what I read at the bottom of the notification. I was disqualified because of residency. Really? DHS can't figure out whether or not I am a US Citizen? Must be one of those things where I get slotted in a category hoping I don't read through it and the position goes to someone's friend.

You wonder about how many vets vs non-vets who hold high positions in the VA, I'm still wondering about Americans vs non- Americans that have the power and control!

Lack of accountability is the main issue. While it is laudable that the investigation is finally taking place, "maybe fire people" is an incredibly soft stance given the cost in lives and quality of care for our veterans.
