I will say this the media tends to choose their headlines and soundbites to get the most readers and viewers. This occurred in Chapel Hill in a neighborhood that has older residents and college aged adults and the murders could be completely unrelated to the religious beliefs of the deceased. This is why the police department investigates, and gathers evidence to present to the DA who then goes before the grand jury. Let due justice take its course. By the way I just checked the headline and it says the murders were not related to bias but a parking dispute.

Great, here comes the conseverative right's war against atheists. I think this the media trying to spin it in to somethings it's not. I guess we will see though. Maybe they had an issue completely unrelated to religion like they are consistently loud or parking in his parking spot.

It doesn't but that's how fox news is reporting it. Local news sources are saying it was over a parking spot and that they have had disputes before.

They do classify it as a hate crime. Believe it or not, the atheists think the Muslims being as silly as the Christians. However, you do see a lot more Christians trying to force their religion as an official religion a lot more than the Muslims in the US. After all, the US Muslim population is about 1 % vs Christian being 73%.

I would like to add a small comment, just my opinion and not meant to be argumentative at all. I think SFC (Join to see) that the perception of Christians "trying to force their religion as an official religion" is caused by that 73% majority you mention. I doubt most Christians think it should be "the official" religion, it's just that they are used to most people sharing the same belief. That's my opinion anyway.

well because muslims are in a distinct minority here, if it gets bigger some of their more radical types will force their religion with the sword, show me where christians are doing that.

CW2 William Nelson, are you implying that we should fear the possibility of the Muslim radicals uprising in the US in mass? Not long ago, we had a different enemy. Ever heard of the Red Scare? A bit further, there was the Salem Witch Trial.
