The Marine Corps is discontinuing using "man" in their verbiage and replacing with Marine, e.g. Armor Marine in 33 different jobs http://www.marinecorpstimes.com/story/military/2016/06/27/marines-remove-word-man-these-19-job-titles/86438594/
Is it time for the Army to change some as well.?

Seaman, airman, both have man in the titles and ALOT of women in the ranks. Not sure why any of this matters. Why would we rescind every training manual, sign, t-shirt, POI, or anything else that could have the word infantryman in it just to accomadate a fraction of a percent of females that will actually join the infantry? Just my 2 cents

You are correct, and guarantee they are looking at verbiage as well.

There are female Firemen and the world hasn't come crumbling down. I suspect it won't over this either.

Just do what they are currently doing. In the front of the AR, FM, etc include the disclaimer statement: Unless this publication states otherwise, masculine nouns and pronouns do not refer exclusively to men.

Social Darwinism has infiltrated every aspect of our culture; which is a shame especially when used on our military. As a Grunt your job isn't to be sensitive to anyone's feelings, but to punch their ticket to leaving this planet when they are the enemy. This sensitive Politically Correct crud needs to stay away from institutions with Honor, Integrity, and Tradition and just plain leave well enough alone.

How does changing the name to Infantry Soldier change that fact you so eloquently articulated.

Why are Airmen still called Airmen? Women are in the Air-force they are still Airmen.

as a proud INFANTRYMAN this topic speaks to me on a personal level why should i have to change what i was called because some weak willed officals in the army caved in to political B.S. and allowd women in a M.O.S. they don't belong! i know some people will say "how can you say women don't belong in the infantry you are just being sexist?"but i can give you a list of reasons i saw first hand why they don't belong.
1. the Men around them will attemp to protect them more then they would a male even to the dertment of the mission and risikng thier lives and the lives of other male soilders to protect the women.
2. it is a biiological fact that most women are not as phisically stron as the average man.
3. Hygene can become an issue there were time i had to go for almost a month without a proper shower do to water limitations women are prone to get verious infections in their internal genitaila when going that long without a proper shower
4. in iraq we had a mixed gender support unit within the first 3 months 16 of the 39 women in that unit went home pregnant for the consentual sex they were having while on deployment.
5. and i hate to admit this would be an issue because i'd hope that the honor of the average soilder would prevent it but the intances of rape will increase - ai know a lot of people will disagree with this reason they will say that there are precations in plce to prevent this but i have seen how infantry men talk and act in the feild when out there long enough many would have sex with any thing. some even againts the female's will (granted that # is very small and when what he did came out his fellow infantrymen would most likely beat him half to death)

To answer your points the best I can.
1. Men will have to look at male and females as Soldiers. In others words don't be a sexist.
2. Yes most women are not phyically up to the standard and some men are not either. That is why the Army is implementing the OPAT to ensure only those who physically assess high enough will have certain MOSs open to them at the MEPS station. Male and female both.
3. As a guy that has gone 30 plus days without a shower I get it, but I am not a female and do not pretend to understand female hygene. Let the experts figure that out - Females.
4. A bit of self-control will solve this. Those females did not get pregnant on their own. The assumption is that males have no control over their sexuality.
5. Again, you are making assumptions that men cannot control themselves around women and rape will increase. Perhaps we should do better at mental assessments before allowing such deviants in the Army.
