I wish that I was still able to serve, would mind being around to see more. By the way I was at Ft Devens in 1975, where the first only WAC joined 10SFG, I still get a lot of flack by those that did not know.

I'm confused by your question. What do you mean when you ask about commanding a mission? They are going to go back to their branches and move on to a leadership position. They will have missions every day. Are you talking about leading people into combat or what?

I purposely left it open, because I believe that there will be a transitional missions before actual direct combat mission against ISIS/Taliban/Al-Qaeda, etc. I am taking into account their branch and past deployments, etc.

I'm still confused, but that's a natural state. I stand by my original statement. They will be doing missions all the time. They may be deployed in their current career field, but it won't be to prepare them to take over as an infantry LT or CPT. It will be within their current branch and they will continue with their career as they normally would. If the career fields open to them for Armor and Infantry, then they will have the choice to transfer...possibly. Don't know how that is going to play out. The Army doesn't have a master plan for these two officers. It doesn't work like that and they won't be managed in order to make that happen. They will have the same opportunities and requirements as everyone else within their branch.
