Well, let me see. he let me marry my best friend and get "marred" benefits. He is letting my daughter (by my 3rd marriage) join any combat force. He let ALL of my relations come in from Mexico and friends from the middle east. He gave me, my relatives, friends and people I don't know FREE health care. I don't know what I will do when he retires. I can't read, write or speak English. I have no work skills. If I lose my free housing, food stamps and health care I don't know what I can do. Since he is such a nice and giving person, I think I will move in with him. Puke, laugh, cuss, or what ever you make of this deeply thought out response. This is my response and I am sticking to it.

Isn't it great that we can all have a different opinion of this and say what we think without going to prison or being killed. Glad to be an American. I think he is a bottom 3 president. Sgt. James Hainen 1189639 USMC

I applaud your bravery in writing a post like this. It's ashame that others won't maintain an open mind and listen to whats being said. I can't understand why anyone would give a down votes when anyone is expressing a valid point of view. And that’s not partisan rhetoric either!

What we have mostly seen with the election of President Obama is that a lot of racism that was under the surface has come boiling out in hatred – found a voice not seen for a long time. I heard a talking head last night say part of the GOP’s problem now goes back to the Birther movement. It wasn’t forcefully enough quashed by the GOP powers that be. Although I do recall Senator McCain saying forcefully to a lady that of course President Obama was a citizen.

There has been no –hint- of scandal or impropriety that comes anywhere near the president, the First Lady, his children or any of their affairs.

He has been a good and forceful leader, unafraid to apply military action, but seeking the best courses of action in difficult situations not of his making.

He will surely be considered an of the top 10 or even top 5 presidents. He is without doubt the best president in 50 years.

It is sad and scary that the GOP leaders flaunt their responsibility under the Constitution to consider a Supreme Court Justice when nominated. They embrace racism and think it will make points for them with their constituents. That is the scariest thing.

I will take your comments as you really believe what you said or you are staring at a major's selection board and need a little bump. You're right about racism young CPT. The racism that has been cultivated by this administration has been an absolute keel breaker. Since you appear to be a Department of Navy type I used a nautical reference. When cities burned in the 60's and 70's many of us look back in retrospect and could empathize with African Americans. But of course 85 million "white racist" put him in the White House twice so yea, I "think" I see your point...all those racist who voted for him. WTF were you numb nuts?

It was started by hillary campaign manager in PA love how liberals forget that. On race well he is a race pimp question him then your a racist. He invites black lives matters to the WhiteHouse while demonizing the cops. Obama is a joke

There has been no hint of scandal....that we know of. Good and forceful and unafraid to apply military force.....where and how? Are you referring to the so-called Red Line in Syria? How about the pullout in the clusterfuck that is Libya?

There has been a marked regression in racial relations in the last eight years. And it started with the beer at the White House way back when. Here's my take: you can't unify people by dividing them. Inviting movements like Black Lives Matter to the White House is, at the very least, endorsement of a bellicose pressure group that doesn't exactly have the best interests of the nation or its citizenry in mind.

And as regards gridlock between the executive and legistlative branches, do you really expect Congress to give the White House the time of day when the White House acts as independently and as arrogantly as it has these last several years? If Reagen and O'Neil found common ground, if Clinton and Gingrich reached detente, who can't the prognosticator of 'change we can believe in', the self-styled, populist 'man of the people' and a recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize (just for being elected??!!) condescend to work together with friend and foe on the Hill?

And there goes another keyboard. Spit up all over it after reading that first line about racism. Too funny. Simply disagreeing withi him did not make us racist.

Your perception of successful and 70% of the rest of the country have an extremely wide gap between them, I consider Carter to be more successful than these last failed 8 years. If you owned a business then you would understand.

Your post is reminiscent of most everything coming from the administration.. "We are great, the best.. Tell us why you agree with us"

It comes across like the old joke
"Are you still beating your wife?"
No matter how you answer it's wrong.
-No (Ok so you were a wife beater?)
-Yes (OK so you are a wife beater?)
You have made a statement of personal opinion ,and asked everyone to tell you why they agree with you.

Sorry, wont play that game..

Sure, I set it up a certain way.

But no one has offered any evidence that it isn't the proper narrative.

The GOP -is- attacking the country.

Senate GOP Obstructionists Throw Veterans Under The Bus-Vote Down Bill To Help Vets In Need Of Jobs
9/23/2012 @ 4:29PM

For those who continue to believe that obstructionism at any cost is not the goal of the Senate Republicans, consider the behavior of the GOP Senators who, on Friday, blocked a bi-partisan effort to pass a bill that would put veterans to work in jobs that look after the nation’s federal land while also giving our fighting men and women a leg up when it comes to getting them hired by local police and fire departments.

The legislation would have provided a relatively small allocation of $1 billion in funds to accomplish the goals of the program.

In order to bring the bill to the floor, a procedural vote was required to waive a technical limit placed on such spending as agreed to in Congress during last year’s budgetary fiasco. Despite the sum of money having been fully offset by cuts and modifications to other planned expenditures, Senate Republicans used the required vote to shoot down the proposed legislation as the Democrats, with some Republican assistance, were able to manage only 58 of the 60 votes required to accomplish the waiver.

GOP blocks COLA on benefits for disabled veterans and survivors
September 28, 2012

Despite what has traditionally been overwhelming support both in the past and unanimous support earlier this year in the U.S. House of Representatives, the Chairperson of the U.S. Senate Committee on Veterans’ Affairs announced on Thursday that at least one Republican Senator was holding up a bill which would provide a cost of living adjustment (COLA) on benefits for disabled veterans and the spouses and children of deceased veterans.

...

Earlier in September Republicans in the Senate blocked a bill which would have helped veterans gain employment. Meanwhile at the end of August President Barack Obama signed an Executive Order improving the mental health services for veterans, military members and their families.

Meet the 40 Senate Republicans Who Betrayed Veterans By Killing $1 Billion in Jobs

Forty Republican members of the United States Senate betrayed veterans today when they decided that denying President Obama a victory was more important than spending $1 billion to create jobs for vets.

The Veterans Job Corps Act of 2012 would have spent $1 billion over five years to put veterans to work tending to federal lands, and in the nation’s police and fire departments. Sen. Patty Murray (D-WA) based her plan of FDR’s Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC), but Republicans opposed the bill because they said there is no proof that it would work.

Republican Sen. Tom Coburn claimed that there is no evidence that jobs for vets will work, “What we have is a bill that’s brought to the floor that has good intentions behind but shows the absolute laziness of congress in terms of really digging things out.

...

Here are the 40 Republicans who voted to keep America’s veterans unemployed,
