At times I do. I was over in that area about a year ago. In some ways it was really nice

Though retired, if my country called on me to go back, I would more that gladly fulfill the request and the mission to the best of my abilities.

I would love to be able to return. Deployments were easy. Life here is the hard part. I lived by two rules . 1. Don't let my team die. 2. Don't die. That's it. I also had two rules for my wife. 1. Don't bug me with shit I can't fix 4,000 miles away. 2. Don't say come home soon. Instead say come home safe at the end of the tour. With that said, I am no longer medically World Wide qualified. I still miss it though. I miss it more knowing I can never go back.

Good luck! That aside, I saw another option, French Foreign Legion is taking applicants, 17 to 40 is the age limit with a 5 year first term commitment.

Hell no. I saw blown up kids everyday that I worked and while I can see many wanting to go back because of their job, not for mine.

I was one of the lucky ones who got blown up. No serious injuries, just a concussion from the shockwave. But everyday I want to go back because I feel like I could do more.

SSG Joel Galford - You got a concussion from being "blown up"? We have different definitions of blown up.

Luckily didn't catch any shrapnel, just a shock wave that took me off my feet, rupture an eardrum, broke a tooth on a rock from getting leveled, 3 broke fingers, and had me bleeding from the nose from getting my bell rung. all in all in comparison to two of the guys there I came away fairly unscathed that time and 2 others. The joys of being cross trained and working with 1371's. Not a poor me moment but I count it even though I got to keep all my limbs and digits.
