Learn to play with rubber chickens?

In all seriousness, have you spoken to your leadership or command structure about what you want to do? They are generally the ones that would have influence for you to do such positions and would be great to speak to about a path to take.

Yes I have, I am just trying really to get as much information as I can and help from different people outside my leadership as well.

Same here. Currently there are SSgt's conducting MTI duties, per THRMIS records. I am wondering if they were grandfathered in, or if you can still apply as SSgt.

This is my goal too, and currently you can't even be an MTI until you are a Tech Sgt in the Air Force. In the mean time, make your career look good. Do things like Honor Gaurd or Drill, volunteer, be as professional as you can be, promote process improvent in your shop/office. All that will help your package for applying to be an MTI.
