Army folks (especially those not on Army/joint posts where the MCSS obviously has our uniforms) where have you found the new Pinks and Greens? I heard wait until I go back to a school yo buy them and not waste the additional money on Marlow White, but other than those two options, what have you all found that works? Full disclosure, I am on an Air Force post many hours away from a proper Army MCSS and I have been told that big Army will no longer allow non-Army or joint posts to carry the "dress" uniforms. We have all the accessories and OCP, but not a single piece of AGSU or ASU. I presume this is either due to the shift in uniform and the supplies, but the workers made it sound like a permanent decree. Your experiences?

Just go to the AF Clothing and Sales and ask if you can order the AGSU thru them. I mean, they are AAFES. Unless it was Clothing and Sales that told you.

Unfortunately, it was the MCSS who informed me of this new was "the Army" is doing things. We used to have both duty and service uniforms, but now apparently "the Army" pulled those back to just Army posts. They said full joint posts might have them, but definitely not an Air Force post. I'm not whining about it mind you. Although it is inconvenient, I just figure best to knock it out before I PCS just hopefully with the "here's what worked for us" guidance of the community. Don't reinvent the wheel; am I right?

So turns out that AAFES cannot order the new AGSU if they are not able to carry it, and being on an AFB, they cannot locally carry it. Well, back to either ordering from Marlow White or driving to the nearest Army post. Can't say I'm happy about it, but good to know the ridiculousness up front.

SFC (Join to see) - Damn. That truly sucks. So glad I'll be retired before the MWD.

You just go onto shopmyexchange and order it off the AAFES clothing and sales. Have fun getting an Army uniform tailored on an AF base though. You'll want to read the wear and fit guidelines ahead of time to tell the seamstresses exactly where the hems should reach on you, exactly how far down the shoulder your rank and patches should be, and how high above the cuff your bars should be.
I was at an AF base when the ASUs came out. I had to drive hours to an Army base to buy the uniform and then get them sewn at a local sew shop

SFC (Join to see) I lament I never made the trip down to their facility while I was stationed in MD. I suppose I will go get a tailor to measure me and then place the order. No time like the present, or rather none like a few days from now when my clothing allowance hits and begins to burn a hole in my pocket.

SFC (Join to see) you can make the measurements yourself with a $1 seamstresses tape measure. Obviously, a tailor will do it better, but you can look up the measurement benchmarks and have someone measure for you.
It's basically pant inseam, waist, chest, and arm length

I will have to do that, it seems. The local MCSS is not allowed to even order them, so I suppose it is time to step up to Marlow Whites.

You get what you pay for in life and Marlow White is worth it. Last I checked they had three levels of uniforms based on quality and if you plan on staying or beyond 20, spend the $$$.

Bought my ASU from MW. So much better quality than the set you get from clothing and sales and you can tell when standing next to someone wearing one.

It looks like you’re at MacDill AFB. I agree with others who say go to AAFES clothing sales and order what you need. Major joint service presence there. I’m surprised they don’t have Army uniform items. They used to have some items for all services way back in the 1990s.

They had our stuff up until the last year or so, but I wasn't buying the new uniform until my unit came up with our patch. And wouldn't you know it, now the MCSS doesn't carry our stuff. Fantastic, but at least I'm not Navy. Sailors have to go to Orlando or Jacksonville for their uniform doodads.

There are a few ways to get the appropriate uniforms. A couple of folks have already identified a few. Go get them, I oils not advise waiting until you get to an Army installation being out of uniform.

That is really my motivation. I was told to report to my current station in service uniform and if the next does the same, I want to at least show up looking squared away.

I have purchased dress uniforms through PX and white, both were the same quality. SFC (Join to see)

CSM Darieus ZaGara That is reassuring. Irony is though that I have even called the nearest Army post (Stewart) and their MCSS only has a partial mashup of the new uniform and said the Army's rollout was poor (their words were more colorful). Marlow White can't get the shoes . Figured this would be a what's the best path forward by crowd consensus and now this has turned out to be essentially impossible unless I drive to a basic training post. Whatcha gonna do, right?

I'd like to get a set, I just don't want to buy it and since the Guard is on the back end of supply for getting them... It's gonna be awhile.

Yeah, they look pretty sharp, but I do understand the desire to get them issued. As active duty, I will have to buy them and they are quite the investment.

Yea, we USAR/NG can basically get away without having to get them at all. The ASU is an authorized alternative formal wear that has no wear out date. So short of a commanders policy directing the AGSU there's nothing forcing weekend warriors to pony up. In fact I've not even worn mine since 2018.
