Has anyone here filed a claim and been approved for conditions covered under the Pact Act? If so, how long did it take to get disposition? I am coming up on 7 months since submitting and there has been no progress.

VA website says a decision has been made and a letter mailed out. No other information available on the site. 190 days since filing.

I filed much later for compensation because I have a lot of health problems that I know came from my time in the military. Most guys in the military doesn't run to the doctor when everything happens health wise.

I sure agree as my husband that I met at our first duty station in the A.F. was an aircraft welder. So, he had fumes from the burning of the metals, titanium is one. Plus, got soaked from JP-4 after needing to cut the wings off a downed plane that was not purged. Then, the second hitch was an aircraft radio repairman that dragged a toolbox and heavy radios up and down aircraft ladders. No complaining from him. Until now as he had to have shoulder surgery. But, since became my dependent his records were lost. So, it is an uphill battle trying to get what he needs for his disabilities.

I filed a HLR in May and haven't heard anything from the VA. They said that they have everything they need from me. 7 months and counting.

I did all of the C&P exams and submitted all of the paperwork and they said that they doesn't need anything else from me. Still waiting for a decision on the HLR.

Like other commentators have stated, around 3 months. I submitted a claim as well, and added details. No decision yet, HOWEVER my experience with VES (Veterans Exam Services) has been outstanding. I had to reschedule a teleconference. They answered promptly and rescheduled quickly to a date I requested. I went to an in-person exam and they were thorough and very pleasant. In fact, they looked into minor things that the person on my phone call to reschedule had added to help me out. I already have 10% prior to PACT Act, and see the VA exclusively. My experience with VA has been far superior to my previous civilian experience. The wheels of Government turn slowly but they eventually get there with patience.

It happened again. I posted on here this morning and received a text with an C&P exam appointment within a few hours.

I applied 5 months ago when hypertension was now included under the Pact Act; no decision yet from the VA for an increase to my current disability rating. Read that 4-6 months is "normal".

Looks like another failure on the governments part. Apparently they did not have the infrastructure in place prior to passing the Pact Act and are now overwhelmed.
Meanwhile we wait........

I've been waiting longer than 7 months for my disability claims to be corrected. A higher level review completed in March 2023, found 10+ 'duty to assist errors'. After 7 months of having my claims 'returned' to the examiners for corrections, AND being told my claims were in the 'decision phase', I got a notice last week that I have to wait and be sent to yet another exam before a decision can be made on my disability claims, which I filed in 2021.....

I'll add mine to the list. Filed a higher level review in DEC 2022. They found one (but I only had one) duty to assist. They contacted my VSO, not me and got more paperwork. That was in March 2023. In May 2023 I had a second C&P exam from a nurse practitioner. It was supposed to include a cancer eval. I had to (beg) ask for the scars to be included. So...11 months later, they closed the higher level review. It's still 0% service connected, but they added TERA. What?! Never once did I request anything remotely related to the PACT ACT. They said I didn't warrant anything higher due to "XYZ" not being met. Did they even read what the NP had wrote in her report or what the previous doctor wrote?!
LOL, due diligence? Doubt it. Oh, and I'm in WA state. The LACK OF veteran support here is off the chart.
So, I'll be sending the VA about 30+ more clinic notes to add to the claim.

I filed in July, 2022 and am still waiting. I've already gone through colon cancer, prostate cancer and now have stage 4 cancer of the liver. Still no word fron the VA!
BTW: I originally filed for compensation in 1997, but of course was quickly dismissed.

I'll give that a try. Thank you! I did reach out to congressman & senators a few weeks ago, one of whom filed an inquiry on my behalf. Only one responded! That office contacted me 2 days ago and said my claim has passed from the Dep. Dir.'s office to the Dept. of Radiation Claims(?).
