It has finally come to this. First it was labelled as sexist if you held the door or held a set for a female, now the DoD is implementing training suggesting that you should ask first if you intend to kiss your date?!?

If you ask, it's awkward, if things end up getting to someone being upset, they should walk away.

Careful there, A1C (Join to see). That over-zealous common sense will be the end of you...LOL!

Maybe a pre-date checklist (similar to those used by pilots) so if the date crashes and burns you have it documented? :-)

Oh that's right, we can't assume people are using common sense. Perhaps a checklist signed by all parties just to be safe. Lol

Yes, because it is SO HARD for women in the military to JUST SAY NO!
Really? We spent HOW MUCH to be told to ask first? $10,000??? Hell, I'd do it for free. That's how ridiculous this really is. Lol. WOWSERS!!

It is hard for a women but not in my eyes.  When I ask for someone I ask for a Soldier male or female.  When I recommend it is bases off effort not gender!

While I don't agree that asking to kiss is always necessary the principle is extremely important. Sexual assault plagues our ranks as it does society in general. Over the years society has gone away from traditional courtship into this hook up culture we live in now. In turn this has caused sexually related offenses to sky rocket. The DOD is trying to make the message clear that if you don't have explicit consent to do something don't do it.

In other words, society has lost its sense of common decency & common sense. I see your point, SSgt (Join to see). However, I think that full-fledged training may be a bit much.
