So here is my case, I recently PCS'd from Hawaii with TDY enroute to Bragg. I was entitled to BAH prior to departing, but depending on which finance I get a different answer on if I should collect BAH from Hawaii, not receive BAH since I am living in the Barracks/Hotel, or collect in-transit while TDY. I have researched the JTR but there is nothing covering my situation. Anyone have a clue on this?

Refer to the flow chart at the bottom of section 10416 of the JTR:
You are absolutely entitled to BAH, to include TDY en route.

The only thing I'll add is that every finance office should be able to back up what they are telling you by regulation. If they don't (or even worse, can't), I'd take it to IG. My Soldiers get paid to ensure your pay is correct.

CPT Webb, I've read that. But it seems each finance is different. It seems whom ever I talk to will give me a different response. They will say Hawaii I OCONUS but yet you receive BAH... It's an odd topic.

I just re-read your question. You are already gone from HI. Go to your local finance office immediately and square your travel away. And do whatever BAH change paperwork needs to be done. They will get you straightened out, but the longer you wait the more jacked up your pay will be. The big factor here is your family situation.

Depends on some facts. Are you a single Soldier? How long is TDY enroute? Hawaii is a funny place to PCS in/out of. You are authorized Temporary Lodging Allowance (TLA) in Hawaii and Temporary Lodging Expenses (TLE) at your gaining station, if you have a family. Depending on the nature of your TDY and whether you have a family or not, will determine your entitlements. Go to the Aloha center you are assigned to and ask them. They will know for sure. Also, find out when the next levy brief is in your area. All the folks that can answer your questions will be there. Good luck!

On the day you leave Hawaii, your hawaii bah will stop. any bah received after you leave hawaii, you will have to pay back. However, you should receive temporary leaves expenses (TLE) and dislocation allowances while you're in transit.
When you in process at fort bragg, you will find paperwork to start bah for the allowed at bragg.

And depending on how long your PCS leave is and when, you will likely only see a funny BAH figure for a month, as BAH is pro-rated.

SGT (Join to see) - Just now seeing this. Not sure if you got this resolved or not, but it depends on a few things. If you are single (no dependents) and your orders officially have you as TDY en route, and your TDY location is not near your old or new PDS (permanent duty station), you will receive the transit housing allowance (BAH-T) for the time you are en route to your new PDS, including the TDY portion.

If you have dependents and were receiving BAH/OHA for them while in Korea, you still receive BAH/OHA while in transit, but the rate may be different based off of a few things.

Bottom line: I don't have all your details (which are important) but it sounds like you should be receiving BAH-T. If this hasn't been resolved, take it to your IG. Section 10416 of the JTR covers your case, this will be helpful information for them.
