Has anybody PCSed from Ft Bliss and found that it is the hardest place to escape from? I have PCSed quite a few times and every place has been fairly easy. Bliss on the other hand has been a pain.

I can attest to this. I’m currently PCSing and it’s been frustrating trying to get my orders. I was told to attend a physical levy brief a second time despite all my required documents being turned in already. Getting PCS orders out of this place is like jumping through rings of fire after being soaked in oil.

SSG, I’m sorry to hear; I’ll take your thoughts of leaving this place with me. I haven’t been here that long—less than two years—and I feel very fortunate to leave, especially when most days here demand hours of sitting and waiting for something to do. SSG (Join to see)

I hope it isn't as hard as you're making it out to be. I plan on retiring out of here....

Problem isn't with me. I tried to get a jump on doing most this stuff as soon as my levy brief was completed. The problem I am having is the fact that every place I need to go to complete stuff has their own checklists and do not follow the guidance I was given at the levy brief.
Now that I have received my orders, everything is flowing a bit more smoothly. Except the flights. I can tell it is the PCS season! I should be getting a certificate of non-availability to enable the family and I to fly commercial.

I did 3 ATs in a raw down there so I can feel your pain! Would not have survived if it wasn't for the Cattleman, the Edge of Texas Road House and Carlsbad Caverns.

Clearing Bliss was easy, except CIF because they never answered the phone to make an appointment, now clearing Fort Hood was a different story

Worst place I've ever experienced for out processing is Walter Reed Medical Center in Bethesda. I had to out process from my unit (AFRRI), then USUHS, then the hospital. Nothing like THREE sets of out processing paperwork to make the experience oh so much for enjoyable.
