You both should try a Spartan Sprint or Tough Mudder. They remove the weariness of constant running (5K), and instead offer a number of 'fun' obstacles to tackle.

SSG(P) (Join to see) - How can I expect my Drill Sergeants and BCT Privates to be motivated, etc when I don't do it myself? Borrowing (and adapting) a line from A Few Good Men - Ïf there's a question I don't know the answer to, I look to Paragraph 4 of the Drill Sergeant's Creed -- I will lead by example, never requiring a Soldier to perform a task I would not do myself" That pretty much covers everything

SSG (Join to see) we have Warrior Dash, Tough Mudder as well as many other races....all are on my training schedule. It would be cool to have your whole section do a Tough Mudder together, wouldn't it?

It very much would be fun. I've done a few races (Run For Your Life (A runner vs zombie race), Spartan, and Mudder) with other service members, but a whole section would be fun. Hell, a Rally Point Mudder would be really interesting.

Alright, I'll break the ice for the Navy.
Pushups - 36 - good for 60 points with a bad shoulder
Curlups - 85 - 90 points
Cardio - 11:10 - 75 points.
Overall - 225 out of a possible 300.

I somehow suspect that it will be mostly PT studs posting in this thread. Well, I'll be the first to post an under 270 Army score!

No. Don't see anything wrong with it, but I don't make it a requirement. I see that as a standard, not a level of excellence...and thus...it feels silly wearing it.

CPT (Join to see) Our Last PSG came off the drill field, he had us doing 100 push-ups at every formation. Yes, 3 formations a day. He said, we may not be the smartest platoon, but we would be the strongest. To this day, I can crank out some serious push-ups. Always maxed on Push-ups. And NO, the comment was not addressed towards me...lol.

SSG(P) (Join to see) I recall having a rule in my first unit. If a man out ranks you is doing push ups then you do them also. Every morning our First Sergeant would walk out and knock them out. The whole company could do that also. I miss those days.

Struggled a little with a sore hamstring after 3 straight weeks of running races (10K, 5K, marathon) before the APFT.

Composite score: 85 (total possible is 100 for AF PT Test)
With that being said, I must also fess up....I am broken. Exempted from PU, SU, and Run/Walk. AF Still has that dumb "measure the belly fat for score", so that is where my points came in....as a score with total test it is worth 20 or 30 points. As a ratio when exemptions present, that is how I got 85.
