I find the bulk of my personal time these days is spent reading FMs and researching military "stuff". I can't seem to read enough FMs. Anyone else having this issue?

Reading FM's was much better than reading TMs in my experience CPT (Join to see). We considered TMs to be a sleep aid if you had insomnia.

Yes Sir, I recreationally read regulations and FM's. While deployed, I read regulations on my spare time. My biggest pet peeve is when someone says it's in the REG's but cannot reference to what REG/FM or says look it up it's in there. I turn around and go look it up, then print out the information and present it to them. I made it a habit to go to REG/FM's to gather my supporting references (ie. chapter 2, 2a(1) references/excerpts) for training presentations notes. I was typically asked, where was that information found. Knowledge is power, the more you know the better off you'll be in your duty position.

I wish you luck Lt, To keep up with the Military and your technical expertise anymore is a Daunting Task. In living at the Peak of the Information Age kinda sucks in some ways. I love the week I drop off line and Ca-hort with my Grandchildren every year.
