I think the General Staff level officers should lower their pay and benefits as well as Congress and the Senate - do that before you touch our serving and retired members pay and benefits. Stop taking all those trips on the tax payers dime and live on a budget and lower income like the rest of us.

You don't go after the lower members of the military (working class) and those that have given over twenty years of their life and time with their loved ones because you can't figure out how to balance a budget and still live high on the hog.

Sorry, for the rant - but these kind of statements from higher ranking individuals just shows plain narrow mindedness and arrogance.

I'm sure there will be some that think I'm out of line but I don't think they should try to fix their budget problems by taking away things that our members have earned through blood, sweat and tears.
