What is the best route to commission as an AG officer? What are the chances of reclassing to a 42A if commissioning doesn’t work out?

I need some guidance I have an MBA currently a SGT (P) 5 years service . I want to submit an OCS packet but I know AD direct commission is competitive and my degree isn’t one of those sought after so I don’t want to waste my time . Perfect MBA GPA. I want to get into AG . Do I stand a better chance getting out active duty and going to reserve officer to get my choice . What are the chances of me also reclassing to a 42A if commissioning doesn’t work out . I don’t enjoy or am I passionate about been a medic anymore . I think I still have more to give in me . PT score high 500’s

Drop the OCS packet. If the OCS route doesn't work, then reclassing to 42A will boil down to the IN/OUT Call for 68W and 42A for SGT.

If you want to be an officer, then apply for OCS. The exact field into which you'll commission upon graduation will be greatly influenced by the needs of the Army. As you noted, an MBA may not be a highly sought after degree type right now. Your MBA should have prepared you for a variety of business related career fields. You might fit well into contracting, supply, logistics, transportation, AG, finance, personnel, recruiting, or even public relations. Most jobs are what you make of them. Almost any MOS can be challenging, rewarding, and sometimes fun. Keep an open mind.
