There have been many RallyPoint members who have sought ways to recognize impactful individual service members and veterans who have passed either in combat or after their military career.

It is not practical to recognize every individual with a separate discussion, but we are happy to host those posts on this central thread.

You are invited to post responses here about individual service members and veterans that you wish to honor.

Halfway down the trail to Hell,
In a shady meadow green
Are the Souls of all dead troopers camped,
Near a good old-time canteen.
And this eternal resting place
Is known as Fiddlers' Green.

Till we meet again.

Unfortunately, I do not have any personal pictures although I can pull some up from my units' websites. Just FYI, SFC Chapman was the very first combat casualty of the War on Terror. He died in January 2002. We served together in Okinawa and it was a complete surprise to our unit that he was even there let alone his death. Really hit us hard. Great NCO.

SPC Charles Brown , not at all. I do think of them from time to time especially Memorial Day and Veteran's Day. SFC Chapman, CPT Shull and SGT Sacco hit me the hardest out of all the losses.

The 468 Fallen Marne Soldiers from 3rd ID (my last unit) that are remembered at Warriors Walk on Ft Stewart. They fought courageously during OIF/OEF and Desert Storm. My old unit has 7 names for Soldiers who sacrificed their lives in war.

They will not be forgotten. "Rock of the Marne"

A horrible loss for our community. Marcus has done them justice with his book and subsequent movie. Highly recommend picking it up.

There is also a documentary. I haven't seen it yet, but it's sitting in my iTunes queue. It's Murph: The Protector
