RFI. Can any of the MWD handlers out there tell me what type of harness your branch of service uses for vertical movement of your K9s?

CSM Theodore Skybiak, vertical is not a norm for us being that we function on the ground. That, and that fact that the MWD group on her is apparently inactive. Personally, I've used something similar to the Ray Allen LLC Harnesses (Lift, Load, Carry). But mine doesn't match exactly what you may find on their website. It is a good heavy duty general purpose harness. Mine has to metal rings to clasp to, opposed to one. One between the shoulders and one at the tail. The shoulder point provided a good quick connect location that we did actually use for hoisting. My harnesses underside straps oppose each other and claspe on opposite sides of the dog an utilised metal, not plastic, quick release clasps. And of course, two handles allowing me to easily grab and manually hoist him over low walls or assist in jumping in/out of high places. Such as MATV's. It has a modular design similar to any MOLLE gear allowing attachment of other items. I have a K9 specific tourniquet and IR strobe on mine. And of course, an IR flag patch.

Oh yeah. This is a piece of personal gear, not a standard issue. It was provided to me by one of our many supportive groups of dog lovers out there.

Have you considered tagging Military Police, Shore Police or any other larger group that uses Military Working Dogs since nobody has responded to your question CSM (Join to see). Tagging larger groups may get you an answer more quickly because they have more members who may be able to answer your question.
