Same-sex spouses of service members are eligible to receive identification cards and all associated benefits, effective Sept. 3, 2013, according to a Department of Defense memorandum.

Why is this even a discussion? If a soldier chooses to be in a same sex marriage he or she is still above all a soldier. And as such should be entitled to the same rights and privileges granted any other married soldier. This honestly should be a Non-issue. &nbsp; <br>

This is a great discussion i think.  The armed forces after many many years recognises  same-sex unions and military service concerns the government treatment or recognition of same sex unions (including same-sex marriages, civil unions, domestic partnerships. My question to you SSG Chris Burr is this topic is of interest to you or did you only comment in the topic to get 3 points. (Real Question)
