It is up to the Commander- just because someone has the rank does not mean that they have the qualifications nor the best choice.

Unfortunately we’ve all encountered those who have been promoted beyond their actual capabilities. The Commanders, CSM and 1SG know who is best to fill Platoon Sergeant positions and are not concerned with hurt feelings.

Up to the Commander - a few times a SSG was PSG while 3 or 4 SFC's were relegated to the 3 shop, I myself was PSG chosen over 3 SFC's - as someone said - they can hold the rank, but for reasons deemed by the command, are not suitable to run a Platoon.

Should a SSG(P) stay in a Platoon Sergeant position when there are several SFCs within in the unit who are in need of KD time?

If the Commander is keeping the SSG(P) in place and not putting the SFCs there, hmmm....
