Should I wait until I reach SPC to submit my WOFT packet? Is it worth it to submit one as a PFC?

I was selected as a PFC for flight school and never looked back. What have you got to lose by applying now? If you don't get selected just try again.
There are always people who will tell you to wait and gain more experience or to try different options. You will always always note that they are not warrant officers and that they have not applied to anything themselves because they are waiting for tomorrow. I also met with many of those naysayers once I was a warrant officer and they were still the same rank they were when they gave me their "advice."
If a program really required more experience or a certain rank they would put that in the requirements. If you meet the requirements then apply.
Good luck.

Personally, I would wait until you are a SPC. Based on board results over the last year, PFC's are very rarely selected (no joke, like maybe a handful in the last 7 boards). Unless there are simply no PFC's dropping packets, which I highly doubt.
Unless you're an older soldier with life experience and a college education to back you up, I'd wait. You're not an NCO, but being a SPC still looks better on paper than being a Private. SPC are selected all the time for flight.

Agree with CW3 Viola. Absolutely no reason to wait. Hate to burst the bubble but being a Specialist does not look better to a board than a PFC. What, besides time in service, is needed to get selected to E4 that you don't have at E3? The reason you don't see a lot of PFCs on the selection boards is that it takes time to get a warrant officer packet completed and they are already SPCs by then.

LCDR Keith Trepanier - That's a good point sir and one that didn't cross my mind. My packet took way longer to put together than I expected it too and had everything worked out smoothly, would have been submitted when I was a PFC.

If you have the prerequisite scores then submit, submit, submit. The only reason I didn’t submit mine sooner is that I didn’t know about the program. The difference in PFC and SPC won’t be significant to the board. They’ll be looking at your Sift/Gt/APFT etc. The six months difference between junior enlisted ranks is a non factor I would think.

Based on current selection trends the sooner you apply the better. If you do not get selected then reapply and keep trying until you are successful. If you need any other advice just ask, there is a community of guys who are more than willing to help. If you want sent me a DM and I will answer anything I can for you.
