I know you want to foster conversation, but I honestly don't know how anyone could even seriously consider the concept. In any case, it's a non-starter because it violates the Constitution. Never happen without some sort of revolution or civil war.

AA Joseph Moody - I did no such thing. Quote: "YOU SEEM to suggest..." Now, I get that you might be having a bad day (since your responses are all out of proportion to any imagined offense I have committed) so I'll take the time to tell you that that's me offering my perception. Nowhere did I state it as fact, and therefore did not 'put words in your mouth' or troll you. Just my opinion. And I think you will find NO support from RP members in attaching the troll label to me. I am anything but.

SN Greg Wright - " You seem to suggest..." followed by words that went well outside the context of what I had said.
I'm not having a bad day, I simply have little to no desire to deal with behavior like that from people who should know better.

AA Joseph Moody - I'll make it easy for you. Your misuse of the downvote (you really should read the rules about that, you're in violation of them), combined with the ease with which you look to take offense (like most far-left extremists) means that the best course of action is to simply block you and spare us both the other's company.

No it should not, nor should any belief system pre-empt US law. The tenets of belief that apply to the myriad of "religions" on the scene apply only to those practicing a particular faith. To have someone to use as a defense in court, having been charged with a violation of law, that their religion says it's "o.k." is, in my opinion, ludicrous.

No. However, this also includes all religious doctrines to include Christianity. The first amendment is clear that there must be a separation between religion and government. As such, no religion should preempt U.S. law.

Cpl Mark A. Morris - Not murdering, stealing, lying, etc are not unique to Christian thought. Every society even non Christian ones have these basic ideas because they create an orderly (mostly) society. While I do agree with you about Westboro, I don't agree with you on Scientology. To me that is no more crazy than believing a guy was crucified by the Romans and coming back to life three days later. It is a belief system like any other. At least the Scientologists for the most part are harmless. Westboro scares me because I don't like the idea of having big f'ing rocks thrown at me lol.

How many witnesses does our Justice system need to prove a thing? Two?
The apostles witnessed Christ's risen body and went forth to preach the gospel at the pain of death.
It appears, they felt strongly about something to not recant their faith.

According to the New Testament, the behavior of many were changed due to seeing the risen Christ.
The apostles could have recanted their powerful faith to live. Yet, un to death they held firm.
I was not there. But, I have no problem believing in the word made flesh.
I seem to fall short on the loving others as G-d loved us.

The apostles spread the good news of love. Islam spreads the news of submission, or death. A big difference don't you think?
If I was truly brain washed, I would be like the Muhammad follows and threaten you with death for being a non-believer. At least, tax you for it.
