Should Military (Active Duty, Reservist & Guard) be allowed to "sit", in support of personal beliefs, during the National Anthem?

I know many even wondered why I asked this question. I knew it was going to be a matter of time. I hope justice is served to this Sailor.
Here is another protest during the reciting of the Pledge of Allegiance. By a State Senator, no less.

I can't believe 4℅ said yes. You are the ones who need to ETS and leave the services to those who give a damn.

Those 4% are still entitled to their own opinions, whether the rest of us like it or not.

As a member of the military your job is to preserve democracy not practice it.

Absolutely not. There is no draft. We all made a choice to serve our country. If you don't agree with the concept behind the flag or the anthem, you should not have volunteered. Suck it up, serve out your term and get out. I was told, in basic training, way back in '81 that the constitution does not apply while you wear the uniform. We were/are all subject to the UCMJ.

A man in the uniform of the United States of America is at no circumstances to sit when the National Anthem is being heard. If you do your carrier as a soldier should be terminated immediately.

It warms my heart to see so many with the right answer. It is not only our duty to stand and render respect to the flag, it is our honor whether or not we are in uniform. We live by codes written and unwritten and we all know what the right thing to do is. If anyone is disrespectful they deserve to be ostracized.

Bearing in mind the fact that everyone is touting this activity as an exercise in free speech, You need to understand that, when you joined the military you swore an oath wherein you agreed to the suspension of some of your rights. This is where you agree to abide by the UCMJ. There are a number of articles in the UCMJ that make it clear you have NO right to free speech while you are in uniform. If you doubt me, just try exercising int with the CSM or CO and see what happens.

Unless you want to save your career, at that moment you better follow instruction or goodbye uniform...

While in uniform you represent the United States and the men and women you serve with. Political statements and actions are best when you are in you civilians and only represent yourself. In other words no.

We need to get rid of the 4 percent who stated it is your constitutional right! Stay out of the military if this bothers your rights!
