So really? Politicians, our leaders, are so petty that this is what they've stooped to? They have the audacity?

Here's an idea: vote, and veto, based off if it's a good law or not

Does this anger you?

does the freedom of speech and right to assembly mean anything to you? I'm not attaching you, just asking.

Absolutely. But at what cost?

Look at the mess we're in thanks to these parties.

It forced Americans to vote for a punchline driven hothead or a power hungry, proven liar.

I'm not sure where you're thinking, but part of the American experiment is that we have the ability to vote out politicians and even managed to attach term limits to one office.

SSgt (Join to see) Our first president, George Washington warned against political parties or "factions" in his farewell address.

I'm still pissed since learning how the Senate was changed from a states rights to a publicly elected position. We would not have a country today if that was in the original deal.

Frankly, the backroom deals and mutual backscratching would not end if we abolished political parties.

We need to either accept the fact that we are a semi-democratic aristocracy, or we need to use the system to effect change and get us back to what we could be.

And I think the States is getting ripe for this change. Sounds like people in both major parties are getting fed up. One reason Trump is where he is now.
