Should POTUS relinquish his Twitter account?

The one thing we can all say is that it is the first of its kind with our current President. It is what it is. We all have freedom of speech. His choice and if it is damaging, he has only himself to blame. Much like all of us. We all have free will and have the right to make our own decisions. Thats the great part about America. Our brothers and sisters fall for the right to be free and speak our minds.

I don't know if I commented. We need to see what General Kelly does. He has the authority to advise Trump. And he is someone he respects. Are Tweets the modern version of FDR fire side chats.

It's not always what you say, it's often how you say it.

There is a story told about Napoleon's struggle communicating with his field commanders. Each one would interpret his orders a bit differently. So, he took a Private, promoted him to Major, and had him read his orders before final issue. If the Private understood what Napoleon wanted, his field commanders better get it.

There's an old saying that goes "If you think it, don't say it. If you say it, don't write it. If you write it, don't be surprised."

So let him keep his twitter account. But it wouldn't hurt if *maybe* a second set of eyes looked at it and just shared his/her impression with the President before he sent it on its way.

Yes, and make that a rotating position among the Senior Non-Commissioned Officer in each branch. That person would be responsible for sending and receiving tweets for the Commander-in- Chief, and God help the people on the receiving end of inappropriate tweets.

I voted no due to 1st Amendment freedoms, but as OUR president, I would prefer he communicate in a more conventional way, so at least we could get an understanding of what he is thinking when he Tweets something. I'm tired of his Twitter storms that are followed by 'spokespeople' saying "Well, what he was ACTUALLY saying was................."

Until the media goes back to reporting the news and not playing commentator, I think I want to know what is on the Presidents mind. That being said, from my experience in the Marines, it may not be prudent to be so forthcoming to how the President feels about every jab hHe receives from those whom disagrees with Him. I believe it not only gives your enemies more ammo, it may also give the appearance of weakness.

Understand that he feels he's reaching out directly to the voters, but his tweets only give the left more ammunition to assault him with. Wish he would throttle back on commenting on every little thing .
