The military judicial system should be allowed to work without interference from POTUS and the chips fall where they may.

No, he should not. SGT Bergdahl must face the court martial he is supposed to face and receive the judgment of the jurors, no matter the verdict. The verdict must be based on the evidence.

Sadly, it wouldn't surprise me. But how can you pardon someone never convicted of a crime? Never understood that one. At least let 12 real soldiers judge him first so this turd can have that stain that can never be washed away by a pardon. Pardon or not you appear to be a traitorous, dishonest, untrustworthy, cowardly, help me out here guys I am running out of monikers for this guy...

He was and is a deserter. He walked off from his assigned post with intentions of getting up with the enemy. To bad the enemy did not make it easy for us and take him out then. I feel sick every time I see him walking around with SGT stripes on his arms. In the old days he would have already been hung. We know why nothing has been done with him yet. I really don't want to get into that right now but let's just say that it came from the top.

I think that a person should not get a pardon until they are convicted of something. To me when a person gets a pardon without a conviction it is like the Executive Branch has subverted the Judicial Branch. It's as if the President or Governor has decided that his opinion outweighs that of a jury or judge in the decision of guilt or innocence. I say you make the person go through a trial, they put themselves in this situation in most cases, so they should have to face a jury. If a jury finds them guilty, they now bear the stain of being a criminal. Then if someone wants to reduce their sentence, that is the purpose of a pardon. Here is the dictionary definition:
Definition of pardon
1
: indulgence
2
: the excusing of an offense without exacting a penalty
3
a : a release from the legal penalties of an offense b : an official warrant of remission of penalty.

Negative on that Sergeant Major.

That being said Bergdahl has not been convicted as of yet and is still participating in Court-Martial so it may be some time before we get out final answer on him.
