I thought about it for a long time to post or not to post. But then again, why not? Legitimate question like CPT (Join to see)'s, right?

That's an easier conundrum to resolve because you can count stars instead of claiming the light reflecting off the moon disabled you from distinguishing the color differential between a gold and silver bar.

'Cause it's weekend, and I vote no to saluting on weekends, right MSG(P) Michael Warrick?

Best part of a Pentagon tour in uniform is walking outside in the middle where you do not wear cover or salute....

Who would have thought a branch of the military would have used who got the top bunk on a ship as a means of Rank. Go Navy!

Actually, it's the Army's fault we did this. Y'all whined about us not having a one-star rank, so we split the Rear Admiral rank in two.
See? Army makes everything more complicated.

LCDR (Join to see), I heard 'split the rear' in a different context before: 'tear you a new a-hole'. Don't know if there's a correlation between the two. Just saying

In a more serious side note - I don't think Warrants should salute Ensigns. The regulations state that they rank "with, but behind" Ensigns. That appears to imply that they're the same rank, but technically junior.

You indeed got a point there, Sir. Furthermore Ensign probably wouldn't stand a chance in 'correcting' CWO in saluting him!

First off, why would the Navy have such ranks. It is just not dignified. Second of all, why didn't just keep the title of commodore. Silly navy and their silly games.

We switched Commodore to Commodore-Admiral because the other nations couldn't figure out that our Commodores were flag officers. That just got messy, so we dumped our one-star flag rank.
That's when the Army did what the Army does best - whined about the Navy, so we split our Rear Admiral rank in half - so that the Army's BGs wouldn't feel inferior.
