I believe Infantry and Operators should be treated with a higher regard in the military.

Even officers and NCOs of all other military specialties should show respect to our nation's true warriors.

The general military is doing a good job of promoting everyone is a warrior but those non combat arms specialties do not train or destroy their bodies like true combatants. I would even say that infantry line medics and navy corpsman that are attached to the marines deserve the same regard.

This is not intended as a put down of other specialties but an awareness that some put in more than others in combat arms.

If you are in the military and you have executed the mission and your job as given. And, not dodged another job, why would anyone place others above or below you?

As an 11B with over 17 years in I didn't join the Army or chose the Infantry to stand out, get recognition, more pay or anything else. I'm a country boy who like to shoot any and all things. I lettered in 5 different sports. I enjoy the life and if you wanted a pat on the ass or whatever you are looking for ask your mom and your dad. It's an all volunteer military; nobody made you be Infantry you chose your MOS and quite frankly if you need someone to tell you that you stand out or are doing a great job you probably aren't. Stop worrying about recognition and awards, tabs, and badges, and push to be better, learn to coach, mentor, and lead. The old Army saying BE KNOW AND DO.

No blue cord or silly little pin on your blouse is going to save you when an ISIS douchebag has a dull kitchen knife at your neck. If I'm ever in that spot, and all the US can muster is a bunch of hungover cooks to save me, send them. Still beats the alternative.

This grunt/pog shit has gone on forever, but the bottom line is we ALL serve our respective branches with pride and fulfill our obligations/missions to the best of our ability.

GTFOH... Are you kidding me? What a sorry excuse of a leader you are and you ave no concept of operating in a team. Take your narsacissitic attitude and shove it in your duffle bag and fix yourself.

The military does have a Warrior class. It's called the United States Marine Corps.

Since you are not appreciative of my work, I will happily withhold all of my intelligence information from you and your team of grunts. Let's see how long you last in the sandbox without I&W.

PO1 (Join to see) How dare you! You're just a SAILOR. A Navy guy. A REMF!!

How dare you think that your service is worth as much as glorified ground pounders?! And don't you DARE bring up the fact that ONE of YOU can push a button and annihilate an ENTIRE DIVISION of them!!

/end sarcasm, /end rant.

Sorry PO1. Just chaps my ass when guys like this don't see the big picture, which includes ALL of us doing our parts.

This has really got to be a joke. No self respecting Noncommissioned Officer would seriously post something like this. Why he believes that operators and infantry should be held in a higher regard I don't know but apparently he forgot about the team concept and the fact that they can't do there jobs without others supporting them.

SgtMaj Anthony Goss What's really funny is that that he's trying to equate 'vanilla' infantry with operators.

This comment kinda spits in the face of everyone else in the military. As an AF vehicle maintainer I've served right next to both parties for all branches on the battlefield (SF and Inf). So I
don't deserve any respect? Don't forget, Those fields are the only ones to get put in harms way.

America lost the more troops in Desert Storm from one Iraqi missile strike on a barracks full of 'support' and 'maintainers' in Saudi Arabia than we did from direct armor or infantry combat. So this guy is pissing all over their graves.

Written like a true army dog. Every Marine is a warrior, even our women. If Jessica Lynch had been a Marine, her dead, unmolested body would have been found among her dead attackers with a hot rifle and an empty magazine.

Touching a hot-button there SSgt. True, but ouch! Truth is men even have to be concerned about being raped as a prisoner of the jihadist. They kill homosexuals, yet they rape little boys: can't quite figure out how they balance that out. You are also right that every Marine knows he is a warrior, he doesn't need a patch other than the EGL.
