Should the US accept immigrants from the Middle East considering no European nations accepted immigrants from Latin America?

When have we ever let Europe's policy dictate ours?

I say no but only because we do not have our own house in order. We can't help others until we help ourselves and get our affairs domestically situated. There are also security concerns that would need to be addressed to mitigate the risks.
