We hear about how all these Vets are triple dipping, but I don't think people are educated on how hard it actually is to do this, and how very small of a percentage of people can qualify to do this.

You have to meet all of these requirements: Serve over 20 years, receive a 50% or more VA Rating, be deemed unemployable or 100% disabled by the VA, AND qualify for SSI benefits.

If immigrants can do it, I don't care about my fellow brothers in arms that served their country. Get all the money you can, you deserve it!

The point he was trying to make is for everyone of you that have legitimate issue and need and or deserve the money their are probably 40 people that are gaming the system. The Airforce is the worst I know 3 people that are 50% and they work one even post his times from running 10k on Facebook, I think of you can run a 10k you probably not 50% disabled.

CW4 Bradler Podner That’s my point if your rated 100% I would think you are bed ridden, and 50% your quality of life would be greatly diminished. You sir have had what I call substantial injures back fusion in the Army are becoming the norm now a days. My comments were more for the Airforce people that I served with that have no reason to be getting the ratting they are receiving. My father was Army two Purple hearts I don’t think he was getting 50% like the wide spread sleep apnea suffers I see in the Airforce.

Hey if you make it to 20 years and have disabilities that are legit then you deserve all the dipping possible. Should take away welfare and give the money to people who have actually does something.

Take a look at how many in this great country are taking hand outs . Not once in their life have they contributed to the country they despise and critize on a daily basis. With that being said if a veteran qualifies for benefits so be it.

I'm one of those rare that qualify for VA disability, army medical discharge retirement after 21 years and social security disability not SSI. I simply get what I payed in since I am completely unable to work. Heck have to have someone do basic household chores. Which cost me not the VA. I won't go through the VA for that. For whoever said "I hope those triple dipping rot in hell, go fuck yoyrself. I was a linemen power companies may I make a fraction of what I made working. It truly is a small percentage that qualify for all 3.

Retirement, disability and ssi are all from different systems that each person has paid into either through TIS, blood and sweat, and social security. They have earned every thing they get.

I receive all three. The basis is the VA made me 100% IU. Based off of my 20+ year retirement and IU, the SEA without question awarded me SSDI. I never wanted to abuse the system by getting anything that I was not entitled to, but did want everything that I am entitled to.

Including SSI, or more specifically SSDI into this shows that the question was posed by someone who doesn't understand. SSDI is the right of every American who has paid into social security. If you become disabled and can't work, you get SSDI. Hiw much you get is based solely by what you oaid into the dystem. What most people don't know is that if you're under 50, Social Security will automatically deny you. Your SSDI has to be approved in a hearing by a Federal Judge. Even with a 100% Service Connected Disabled for pay rating from the VA I had to go to the hearing.
Also if you are TDRL or PDRL and have a VA rating, you get benefits from both but PAYPAL from only one. That would be TRUE double dipping. TDRL and PDRL are based on rank and time in service, where as VA is strictly by % of Service Connected disablilty, with no regard to rank at all.

I will plagiarize a phrase I read on RP earlier, "Malicious Obedience". Go for it. The government (both parties) is busy handing out money to buy votes with little reflection on the wisdom of what they do.

I know three households in my area that that bought goats from me to provide milk for themselves. They all have combined household incomes well-over $100K. They are proud that they received USDA grants (no pay back or matching funds required) of $3K-$5K to pay for their pastures to be fenced.

I don't have a problem with this program for low income rural families that have sufficient land to raise their own meat and milk. But these families are not in need. Nor are they entering into agriculture, with an expectation of employing someone. This nonsense used to make me angry, still does. But fine, let's break the bank with nonsense. Just can't bring myself to do it for my own benefit. Hopefully a Phoenix will rise from the ashes.
