We hear about how all these Vets are triple dipping, but I don't think people are educated on how hard it actually is to do this, and how very small of a percentage of people can qualify to do this.

You have to meet all of these requirements: Serve over 20 years, receive a 50% or more VA Rating, be deemed unemployable or 100% disabled by the VA, AND qualify for SSI benefits.

Yes. We paid for SSDI every paycheck; our friend FICA. Now a Person who puts in 20+ and earns retirement service should get it. For special combat dispensation allowance Congress says the US should compensate a disabled Wounded Warrior. This is no different than getting long term disability, SSDI, and defined benefit retirement from a civilian or state/local government. Cops, firefighters, etc. get these type benefits in many jurisdictions.

Very sensitive subject for some, but triple dipping should be strictly controlled, especially for those who serve less than 20 years, but there are always individual circumstances. For instance, if someone has very severe injuries; traumatic TBI, lost limbs, etc. Everyone in those categories should be 100%.

If everyone were entitled to triple dip, where's the integrity of the programs? There is definitely a huge difference, if veterans think otherwise, they need to go spend a day with a veteran (or caregivers of veterans) who have missing limbs, or severe irreconcilable brain damage. Just my thoughts.

I make $202 a month for my retirement, if that's dipping, you really can't add.

I'm not savy as to what triple is. I am a 90% disabled vet and a former DA civilian working with the National Guard. I get a check for being unfit for military membership on the tech side but am not getting Social Security. I am also entitled to my Guard retirement at age 60 for my 32 years service and now am wondering if I will get that and if I do will it affect something else?? Anyone know?

If you are under CSRS and not FERS there is a thing called Civil Service Windfall Elimination Provision that will grossly restrict any SS .. Got the shirt, instead of getting $1250 I've been told over the years I would be eligible for, the max I'm allowed is $342..

I'll have to agree with Jarrod Stover. I'm also 100% but my sacrifice also involved water contamination for 3 years at Camp Lejeune. Yes, they will take care of me till I die

Yes, I received a med board from the Army and was given a %. Then VA made me 100% total and permanent. As well as my wife is a caregiver, and social security pays a % to me. If my body wasn't FUBAR they wouldn't just hand me money. They try and take it already any chance they can. When u can't move the extra money is of little solice and they could keep it for just one day . I worked had for my career/ as many do that retire. We did our jobs, no need in making it a sin to get what we were told would happen if we were hurt or other circumstances. Triple Dipping, lol. I truly wonder why they focus on a Scratch when the Government is throwing money at fences in millions while we die. So I feel no shame in spending every bit of the money I get and I hate the people that just don't or can't understand.
