Please do not comment if you are still serving in the Military in some capacity; a/o where potentially your job, livelihood, or position could be at risk.

I can not see why anyone would take issue with the words "Critical Race Theory" unless the real history of America , as it pertain to this subject, make White people feel guilty about America's history. I went through a Jim Crow education system where American history as it pertains to Black people was brushed over. White people have always had problems dealing with the truth about America's true history as it pertain to Native Americans, Blacks and minorities of Color. because it serves their purpose of feeling superior to any race other than White-which is totally without justification- that BS about America's superiority as it pertain to White people, Make America Great Again, White Kids going to be terrified and emotionally damaged, forever scarred, if the truth had been made a part of the educational curriculum in the school system in the past I think the White adults of today would have better served and be better informed of the real purpose of and the importance of this subject . if they had been taught the truth about American History, including the true affects of slavery, Jim crow actions, including lynching, terrorism against Blacks and other Minorities carried out by their grandfathers, uncles, cousins of the present White population who have problems with true American history being taught. Hell, White American didn't give a Damn when Black kids were taught lies about our history, our achievements, our ability to overcome racial oppression and obstacles and how that effected us at the time and Black children to this day. So to the SFC who object to the Critical Race Theory subject-do your research, try to remove your built in biases that were taught and made to be a part of your thought process as it relates to the true teaching of the racial history of America-I make the same recommendation to any White person who have issues with this subject. I guarantee your kids who you pretend you need to protect will turn out be to a better person than you.

You mean should be we be teaching history? That is what co called CRT is after all and nothing more. Why is one section of society so afraid of teaching the factual history or another part of our society? Because it might paint the other in a bad light they call it what they are they themselves might be guilty of, not them themselves but their section of society.

We should be teaching history as it was. The good bad and the ugly. Would you teach a mission that went bad and ugly in say an officer training so the new officers might learn what not to do. Trying to sanitize history can lead us to making the same mistakes over and over again.

The subject matter associated with this topic is huge, and diverse in the explanations. This is an attempt to reduce the subjects to their lowest common denominator. The explanations are opinions based on professional and academic reports.

Quote: “There is only one good, knowledge, and one evil, ignorance.” Socrates

CRITICAL RACE THEORY (CRT) states that U.S. social institutions (e.g., the criminal justice system, education system, labor market, housing market, and healthcare system) are laced with racism embedded in laws, regulations, rules, and procedures that lead to differential outcomes by race. If you believe the United States Secretary of Transportation, Pete Buttigieg claimed there is “racism physically built into” United States highways. He further urged Americans to think about how racism impacted the construction of our highways for years.

CRITICAL THINKING SKILLS (CTS) are the intellectually disciplined process of actively and skillfully conceptualizing, applying, analyzing, synthesizing, and/or evaluating information gathered from, or generated by, observation, experience, reflection, reasoning, or communication, as a guide to belief and action. In its exemplary form, it is based on universal intellectual values that transcend subject matter divisions: clarity, accuracy, precision, consistency, relevance, sound evidence, good reasons, depth, breadth, and fairness.

IN MY OPINION - Critical thinking on its face is about inquiry. It challenges what is stated, or taken for granted by making observations, gathering more information, taking the pieces apart, examining them, and finding solutions. It’s more about Who, what, why, where, and how rather than, You’re wrong because I said so!

The men and women in military universities deserve an education that benefits the best possible results in both peace and conflict for those they lead, those deep in the fight, and the citizens of the United States of America that our military is supposed to protect.

How many times in combat under fire did you use CRT in your decisions for the best possible results? Arm our men and women with the knowledge and CTS that gets the best results. In short, our student's time would be best served to learn critical thinking skills.

Depends on how it's taught. America has a history of racism and oppression. That's not an opinion.
And while many comments say CRT is Marxist or CRT promotes victimhood let's think.
No one is accusing a specific individual service member of being racist or oppressor.
Ok great. Guess what.
Some of your fellow service members are going to go on leave in civilian clothing AND GET HARASSED by police.
Some are going to go on leave and get invited to a clan meeting.
And you think not being empathetic to what people go through off duty is a good thing?
Why does soinso have a chip on his shoulder.
What subconscious things drive a person.. even unknowing preferential treatment?
Racism is deep rooted even in those that are not racist.
Teach it, but for empathy not pitty

I don't feel it is necessary to teach CRT. Most of us come from families who have taught us that all men are equal in the eyes of the law. When someone breaks the law, it matters not the color of his/her skin, it matters that the person is culpable. If we don't know this at a very young age, we'll never know it. It is character that matters.

As a crusty old retired bastard , ( who grew up in the south) I was tought that if you down graded others or caused discontent in the ranks you usually got some individual counseling if that didn't work you received individual counseling ( usually wall to wall) the problem is that society is trying to blame all it ills on it's past , rather than deal with it . You can't blame me for the sins of my father's. (Which CRT seems to do ) You can only blame me for my sins . Everyone despite race or religion has opportunities to advance in life, if they are willing to work for it . Especially in the military . Society can't erase history or the injustices that was done , but to teardown statues and memorials ( even the ones dedicated to African American soldiers) doesn't change history it only causes strife. Which should cause a good soldier to see it for what it is... A return to segregation, with them over there and us over here . And NO Army can fight as a team with that kind of division . "A divided house can not stand.

Your statement shows a lack of understanding. You are conflating different things and throwing the word woke in there.

Absolutely my statement comes from an extensive understanding in the subject. And also an understanding that those who are for will die on that hill and those who don’t will also do… my opinion is only mine and you may chose to disagree as much as I disagree with it…. It to say “you don’t agree because you don’t understand shows once more than unless one agrees with one POV it just absolutely mean one doesn’t know what one is talking about”… it is always the same story.

One must be “woke” to understand. If not, then you must be wrong. End of story…

The fact that you feel compelled to post "Please do not comment if you are still serving in the Military in some capacity; a/o where potentially your job, livelihood, or position could be at risk." tells me that you already know the answer
