Should we bring the Pledge of Allegiance back to our schools?

Should we bring back the Pledge of Allegiance? I remember as I went through Grade School we use to say this every morning and it gave me a sense of pride and purpose each day! Are the youth of today missing this and will they every understand what it truly means?

THE PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
Our Pledge of Allegiance as we know it is fast becoming a thing of the past. Kids used to say the Pledge of Allegiance along with a prayer before starting the day’s activities.
Below you will see the very touching recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance as told by Red Skelton. They Pledge as we should still teach our children.
Also listed is the “Global Earth Day Pledge” that our children are learning today. Again this is Global. Everything will go global in the “End Times”. This is just another way to ease everyone into it. Be Prepared. It is coming.
On January 14, 1969, Red Skelton touched the hearts of millions of Americans with his "Pledge Of Allegiance", in which he explained the meaning of each and every word. Red Skelton's recitation of the "Pledge of Allegiance" was twice read into the Congressional Record of the United States and received numerous awards.
RED SKELTON: "I remember this one teacher. To me, he was the greatest teacher, a real sage of my time. He had such wisdom. We were all reciting the Pledge Of Allegiance and he walked over. Mr. Lasswell was his name... He said": "I've been listening to you boys and girls recite the Pledge Of Allegiance all semester and it seems as though it is becoming monotonous to you. If I may, may I recite it and try to explain to you the meaning of each word:
I
Me; an individual; a committee of one.
Pledge
Dedicate all of my worldly goods to give without self-pity.
Allegiance
My love and my devotion.
To the Flag
Our standard; Old Glory ; a symbol of Freedom; wherever she waves there is respect, because your loyalty has given her a dignity that shouts, Freedom is everybody's job.
of the United
That means that we have all come together.
States
Individual communities that have united into forty-eight great states. Forty-eight individual communities with pride and dignity and purpose. All divided with imaginary boundaries, yet united to a common purpose, and that is love for country.
And to the Republic
Republic -- a state in which sovereign power is invested in representatives chosen by the people to govern. And government is the people; and it's from the people to the leaders, not from the leaders to the people.
For which it stands
One Nation
One Nation -- meaning, so blessed by God.
Indivisible
Incapable of being divided.
With Liberty
Which is Freedom; the right of power to live one's own life, without threats, fear, or some sort of retaliation.
And Justice
The principle, or quality, of dealing fairly with others.
For All
For All -- which means, boys and girls, it's as much your country as it is mine. And now, boys and girls, let me hear you recite the Pledge of Allegiance:
I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic, for which it stands; one nation, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

When I was in high school they still did it in Kansas. But that was 2011. I doubt it has changed much since then.

In Missouri we pledge allegiance to our flag daily in school. In fact, state law requires we conduct the pledge daily, and all students are encouraged to participate.

i am a lucky father, my boy was in preschool this previous year, and they recited the Pledge of Allegiance every morning, and at his preschool "graduation" ceremony they recited it for the whole gathering! ! !

Capt Seid Waddell It has stopped in about 50% of the schools at different levels at different times. For me it ending in the third grade of my grade school way back in the lat 60's and early 70's. We never did it after the fourth grade up through 8th or in High school. This was Central Illinois (Washington, IL).

Cpl Lawrence Lavictoire That's a really good question. I guess it would have to be a "grass roots" movement by the people that believe in what it stands for. I really don;t want to get politicians involved because I dont' trust them and I hate any type of lobbying, but that's just me. What do you think it would take Lawrence?

Under the new order, it is now illegal for any federally funded agency to display the pledge or for any federal employee to recite, or encourage others to recite, the pledge while on duty. This law also applies to federal contractors and other institutions that receive federal funding such as public schools. Individuals who violate this order can face fines of up to $10,000 and up to one year in federal prison.
I think, like you stated Mikel, a grass roots movement could/may cause changes. But for me, and other Christians, to get us back into what used to be a, "Christian nation", we need to get on our knees, and ask our Father, our God, to please help us! We all need to, "talk to our Father"! "We all have screwed up, bad"!!!!!!!

Oy vez! Cpl Lavictoire, you fell for a satirical piece that was not written for ABC News corporation (i.e. the American Broadcasting Company that you watch on television or your mobile device or go onto the web to view the national news), but for abcnews.com.co which is not a legitimate website for the actual ABC news agency. Had you actually read the real Executive Order 13738 you would have seen that it actually pertains only to a few amendments to the Fair Pay and Safe Workplaces Act. There was nothing actually written about making it illegal to display, recite encourage others to recite, etc. Furthermore, the President does not have the legal ability under Executive Orders to create a criminal statute. Only the Legislature (i.e. Congress) has that power. Did you actually believe the quote from Fappy the Anti-Masturbation Dolphin in that piece by Jimmy Rustling?

Sp4 Byron Skinner…No, Grade School School students are way to you to know the meaning of this act of Patriotism. They are under the age of citizenship at 18 so none of this really applies to them anyway. It is in many way like infant Baptism, the child clearly has no idea of what is happening and what her or him are being obligated to, let them wait until they are old enough to know what they are doing then let them make the decision. The same with the Pledge of Allegiance. hell 18 year males still bitch about having to register for conscription at 18. Its obvious doing the pledge everyday didn't mean anything other then a time to giggle at the girls.

I said the Pledge every day from K through 8. Kids have the right to be taught patriotism in their early years. It is beneficial. Every naturalized citizen must swear allegiance to the USA. Our own posterity should be taught to respect America and all it stands for lest we see an increase of 8 year old football players "taking a knee" when the National Anthem is played.

I posted on this on Facebook and was corrected by a friend who is an elementary school principal. In Michigan there is time each morning for the pledge, students can opt out of it, but the pledge is recited every morning.
I did some research and that is the case in most states, the pledge is still recited each morning.

PO2 Rich Pratt In my grade school Central Grade School in Washington, Illinois they stopped it when I was attending there way back in the early 70's. I'll research it, but my rbother attneded there as well 5 years after me and there was no option - they just eliminated it. If you read through the comments on this post its about 50/50 on those that still have it, those that allow a choice, and those that still have it every day. Thanks for the feedback.

It is "I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic, for which it stands; one nation UNDER GOD, indivisible with liberty and justice for all". Don't forget GOD, Colonel. I wasn't aware that they HAD taken this pledge out of our schools. That's most likely the handiwork of the NWO Globalist & counterfeit President Obama.
