"(Unit Name withheld) BCT ordered to remove combat patches during training at Fort NoMatter so the ones without them don't get ‪‎hurt feelings‬.

Reason? "The unit just returned from Afghanistan and almost everyone has a patch but the large influx of new soldiers are E1 and E2s that have never deployed and they are saying they are left out because they don't have a patch."

Had a CW-3 in Berlin get caught with a ranger tab that wasn't warranted.
If you didn't earn it don't cry about it. "GET SOME"

Hey young private, one day you will get yours. I have mine now, and you need to train hard and prepare yourself for battle. STOP complaining about my patch and accomplishments. SITFU. ARMY brat's used to be children of service members. Now ARMY brat's are the new infux of emotional privates. Sensitive little bastards

I truly cannot believe that the Military in general would think that this response is remotely close to be the "correct" or "most plausible" explanation. How could you take away a person(s) earned deployment patch just because some around them feel "left out"? I'm sorry, but the personnel who have these patches deserve to wear them regardless of what others may think or feel.
I have lost some friends of mine on deployments (though sadly, I have not deployed) and I must stress again, these men and women deserve the right to display and feel honored wearing patches that display that they are the ones who truly stood up and fought, bled and some died for this Country and preserving our way of life.
All I truly have to say is that there are plenty of deployment opportunities that these E1-E2s can rally up for. If it honestly that big of a fuss to some people, deploy!

A fine line he is NOT following in AR 670-1 with wear and appearance of the uniform and military Doctrine. I am guessing he does not have a combat patch.

46 people said "yes"? Really? Are they they mothers of the poor E-1's fresh out of boot camp that didn't get a participation award for being in the military when someone else got an award? Hey, maybe we should all get the congressional medal of honor since we were all in the military when a SEAL earned his... Where is mine? Unfair, my feelings are hurt... This is absolutely ridiculous. I can't stand what has happened to the military. Stress cards, hurt feelings, sensitivity training... Sensitivity training? You're in the military, how about you grow a pair or get out...

Actually PO3 Jonas M., on my end it shows
Yes - 2%
No - 48%
WTH - 49%
No Comment - 1%.

But you're the second person to post that a majority voted Yes. I'm not sure if you're seeing something other than what I'm seeing.
Thanks for your comments.

I'm not saying 46%... I'm saying 46 people. 46 people saying yes is 2% of the people that voted... If you click on "See full results" you will see how many people voted for each answer. :)

I am old school! Since when do we care about feelings. Soldiers are paid to so serve. They volunteered!!! The "new Army" will have their chance to serve in a combat zone...I'm sure of it!!

I have to question whether this is satire. There are many Soldiers who choose not to wear their patches for many reasons, however to direct those who choose to wear them for many different reasons ranging from exceptional pride and loyalty to those that have fallen to those who wear it to give the illusion that they engaged the enemy when in fact they never wore their kit or even maintained a weapon at all times. To cater to ones sensitivity to the limits of establishing an environment that focuses on perception as opposed to historical pride that represents the strongest representation of human spirit can disenfranchise many who have lost someone or something in their lives that cause them to question everything they do or say for the rest of their likes. You cater to children and those in dier need, not those who seek and open door into life with everything they want for the taking without resistance so they never learn to earn their place in society. Its funny how for the hundreds of years we recognized our hereos therefore helping them cope with their experience which also has a healing effect to now taking that away just to make them feel as if their contributions to their nation was for nothing.

Nope. Just like they cannot be forced to wear a specific deployment patch I feel they shouldn't be made to not wear any. If there are deployment patches let those who earned them decide which one tjey earned to wear or not to wear. Otherwise get rid of them all together.

Personally I know some who used to look up to those with those patches as if they knew something because they deployed. In reality it just means they deployed, not necessarily a valuable team member who contributed a lot to the unit, just that they deployed. Same with those without a deployment patch does not mean that they aren't good leaders with no experience.

Before my tour in Vietnam, I did not feel "left out" when I saw other soldiers wearing combat unit patches. Soon enough, I got mine.
