"(Unit Name withheld) BCT ordered to remove combat patches during training at Fort NoMatter so the ones without them don't get ‪‎hurt feelings‬.

Reason? "The unit just returned from Afghanistan and almost everyone has a patch but the large influx of new soldiers are E1 and E2s that have never deployed and they are saying they are left out because they don't have a patch."

New junior enlisted Soldiers can't expect to experience things that those of us that been around have. They will get their chance. Should we not wear our ribbons so that they don't feel left out also? I remember when I PCSd from Panama, after Just Cause. I had more stuff on my uniform than my Squad Leader. I was only a PFC. Some CSM is asleep at the wheel if he/she allowed that to happen at Camp Nomatter.

This is what happens when you give every kid a participation badge in sports. They feel entitled.

Should we also ask former drill sergeants to remove their patches so as to not offend folks when they re-enlist and go back through basic?

Combat patches stay on. Let those hurt feelings flow.

So Soldiers shouldn't be allowed to wear Combat Action Badges or Air Medals as well then either right?

No because a few new people just come on active and feel left out.

I'm sorry but soldiers who deploy to combat have earned the right to wear their patch proudly. This is not only a testament to their courage but a reminder they made it back when so many of their friends and brothers didn't. Any officer to conceive of such a notion is not worthy of being in the military.

This annoys me to no end. The military is moving toward a corporation school of thought. The entitled generation is entering the corps and are already throwing tantrums. It would be really sad for the men and women to be stripped of their accomplishments due to brats feeling left out.
