"(Unit Name withheld) BCT ordered to remove combat patches during training at Fort NoMatter so the ones without them don't get ‪‎hurt feelings‬.

Reason? "The unit just returned from Afghanistan and almost everyone has a patch but the large influx of new soldiers are E1 and E2s that have never deployed and they are saying they are left out because they don't have a patch."

No.....you earned those combat patches and those who haven't had them should either deal with it because they weren't chosen to go on the deployment or assignment or be apart of the action. It's like me getting my EIDWS (Enlisted Information Dominance Warfare) pin and yet a FC (Fire Controlman) is upset he can't get it.

Why should we take away from the soldiets that have given so much to this country. If they want to wear the patch so badly, they should be volunteering to go get with a unit thst is deploying. I spent 03-04, 05-06, 07-09, 10-11 deployed in Iraq. All those years away from my family, wife, and kids only to be told that I can't wear it because PVT Snuffy feels bad. 1. We come from a different age group. 2. Wait your turn, you'll get a chance to deploy. And if you don't be the best that you can be and give it your all. And if you wanted to have that rush of getting shot at or blown up, apply for the bomb squad or SWAT team of your local law enforcement agency. It's not right to take away from those who have sacrificed so much.

Tell them to grow up. Wait your turn long enough and you'll get one, but they shouldn't tell the soldiers with combat patches to remove them just because new soldiers want to be babies about not having them.

I guess by that logic we need to tell the next MOH recipient we see not to wear it because it isn't inclusive.

Feeling left out?? Volunteer to go earn it. That's the problem with this generation...always whining because shit isn't handed to them. Trust me, Obama will give them a chance at that combat patch soon enough.

I was the happiest E-4 in the Army when I was pinned E-5 and got my combat patch. You couldn't tell me nothing! So I disagree with the removal of the combat patch it's a badge of honor.

I read about this before. If Soldiers are not allowed to wear Combat Patches; then are they not allowed to wear Combat Action Badges or Air Medals either? If they can't wear the patch, then why allow them to wear a CAB or Air Medal either?

Those of us who served in combat earned the right to wear the patch of our unit in combat on our right shoulder, or whereever they are worn now. The FNGs will get their chance to earn the right and if they don't, then they should be thankful they never got to see the horrors of war.

So, let's not wear service ribbons or medals. Some people didn't EARN them and they might feel bad. What a ridiculous idea!

Seriously??? You earned that patch and the pain that went with it. There should be no reason to remove. NO REASON. Kids these days are so coddled, we might start asking the enemy to start firing rubber bullets so they don't kill anybody.... Here is a thought, how about group therapy, lets have the leaders of Al-Qaeda and Isis meet us in a disney style room with winnie the pooh and friends and see if we can hug it out........................

When I joined the Army 30 years ago I had Vietnam Vets in my unit, an I would have never had asked them to remove there combat patch. Ppl need to grow up an stop bowing to the whiners. I have Soldiers in my ranks that have been as long as I have an still have not deployed. I would like to see one of them to tell me to remove my combat patch. I spent my time in the desert and seen many sandstorms to boot and I earned what I wear on my right shoulder.
