Should we remove combat patches to be sensitive to those who don't have them?

"(Unit Name withheld) BCT ordered to remove combat patches during training at Fort NoMatter so the ones without them don't get hurt feelings.
Reason? "The unit just returned from Afghanistan and almost everyone has a patch but the large influx of new soldiers are E1 and E2s that have never deployed and they are saying they are left out because they don't have a patch."

Sew on your CIB and then by regulation you have to wear your combat patch, brigade commander doesnt out rank 670-1. Problem solved, problem staying solved

If I have earned a combat badge, why would I worry about somebody else's hurt feelings?
In the words of my ever-loving wife, they can "get over it".
When you earn the badge, patch, ribbon, or medal, then you can wear it and be proud of the service the went into it. If you haven't (yet) been part of such a service, then don't worry about it...there are plenty of other duties and responsibilities to attend to, and if the opportunity comes up in the future, you'll get yours.

I have said this before in other posts, but I will say it again. The military is not a "make everyone feel good" organization. We are in the business of defense and waging wars. This whole "everyone gets a trophy" so everyone can be the same mentality has got to stop. It does nothing but degrade the force.

I am damn proud of my Combat Patch and during Basic it was a thing of pride for me that both of my Drill Sergeants were Combat Vets. We shouldn't worry about feelings, the Combat Patch is an honor earned for combat service. If people are whining they don't have one ship their butts to Iraq or Afghanistan or whatever country we are fighting in at the time. My two cents.

Not a snowballs chance in..... The man/woman sporting
that patch put his/her life on the line to get it. It's a matter of pride and honor. "politically Correct" has no business here.

No. Would you remove your Ribbons from your uniform or your rank just because someone has not earned it.

"Patches....PATCHES...... We don;t need no stinking Patches" now that the Blazing saddles reference is out the way - are you freaking kidding me??? their fee fee are hurt???? next someone will say remove our CIB's and EIB's because they feel left out, while we are at , lets do away with NCO's and Officers because not everyone is the same rank. I blame parents - at some point their fathers should have smacked the stupid out of them.
