Should we remove combat patches to be sensitive to those who don't have them?

"(Unit Name withheld) BCT ordered to remove combat patches during training at Fort NoMatter so the ones without them don't get hurt feelings.
Reason? "The unit just returned from Afghanistan and almost everyone has a patch but the large influx of new soldiers are E1 and E2s that have never deployed and they are saying they are left out because they don't have a patch."

I hope this is a joke. When I came in the only combat patches were worn by Vietnam and Grenada vets. That set them apart and was respected by us greenhorns.

That is ridiculous. Earned em, wear em. With that mindset, all enlisted should retire as an E9.

When I was in we never earned or saw Patches. Those were for the guys who were battle tested and deserved the recognition. Only one I ever wanted was the one that showed my. Commitment to my country.

Patches are generally for those who have been around the major skirmishes. E1,E2s,are not usually commended for that type of environment until deemed necessary.

If you earn it wear it. Should I remove my skull badges if other around me don’t have them. This is ridiculous to even ask.

I am so sick of cowtowing to every sissy that gets a$$hurt because he or she did t earn a tough to earn decoration or badge or device. Life is tough. If you dont earn something dont make yourself feel better by denying it to those who did earn it. WTF??? How is this a thing?!?!

No. I earned mine and I'm proud of it...Go earn yours, use it as fuel to get yours

No. I earned my combat patch, and I didn't solely just deploy, I did things to earn that patch and I'm proud of it, so I'm sporting it. .Instead of being butthurt about not having a combat patch, they should use that as motivation to soldier up, work hard, be squared away, so they can deploy and work to get theirs...It will be worth it and they will be more grateful for it......Suck it up and drive on as my generation said...

WGAS? I'm a Navy guy. USN, USMC, USCG, USAF doesn't use them. It looks to me as a boondoggle to sell patches, but you Doggies can do what you want. Only soldiers have dogs in this fight.
