Should we remove combat patches to be sensitive to those who don't have them?

Most of us who didn't serve in a combat position simply weren't assigned as such. If you were in any combat, you deserve credit, and darn well should display that accomplishment. I'm proud of my service, and thank and RESPECT those who were in harm's way...

NO, and anyone that thinks that I should is just showing patch envy...Such silliness...Silly I tell you!

That is one of the most pussified everyone gets a trophy issues I’ve heard in a long long time. Have we truly sunk so low into the pansification of America that this is where we set the bar for our Warriors and our future Warriors? If they are serving it doesn’t fall to them to decide if they went into combat or not . Orders are given and duty is served . If then that duty took them into harms way , well that’s what we ALL trained for . If it did not then shine where you are , but DO NOT take away that which was earned just because some simpering person might wind up with envy issues. That’s looking at it all wrong . Hold the standard high and those that can will rise to it when called upon , and regardless if they were in combat or not they still serve and that puts them above the masses of sheeple who won’t serve ! So then, what do ? Do we stop wearing uniforms in public because the sight of an American in uniform might create ill feelings in those that couldn’t or wouldn’t bring themselves to serve in uniform? Where do we stop this vasilating slide of standards in our society ?

You want a combat patch? Nut up and earn. I don't believe in participation awards, never have. I'm so sick of all this soft touchy feely language and treatment. It especially has no place in the US armed forces. The military trains warriors, not snowflakes. I think we've gone way to soft in our basic training as it is, and I believe it's a monumental disservice to our recruits. If you only joined for the college money, you joined for the wrong reason. In the military you have no rights, you are government property and they have the right to do as they see fit. Remember, when you took that oath you are never relived of it. You wrote a blank check for up to and including your life.

Am I seriously reading about hurt feelings affecting those who serve in the military? I thought I was in the company of men and women who are honorable and respectable. Soldiers need to know their place and realize they are not entitled. Spoken from a staff sergeant with 10 combat rotations and 9 years of service. Shaking my damn head.

No. I was not awarded one although I have a campaign ribbon, but you earn combat patches.
Should we disallow eib? Parachute wings? Rifleman badges? SF or Rangers patch? Those you also earn.

It is very ignorant too remove something the you earned during combat, plus this is how you are separated from the none combat soldier who look up for your mentoring omg wtf.
