Should we remove combat patches to be sensitive to those who don't have them?

Absolutely not!! Whatever happened to providing incentives to perform better and rewards based on merit rather than sensitivity? BCT should be demoted and assigned to latrine duty since his progressive actions are latrine worthy. If I perform better than someone else and do more than someone else, I sure as hell don't want them to be getting the same rewards and recognition. I had enough of that nonsense when I worked as a civilian for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. The military should not be enlisting people who are more worried about their feelings than building their skills, being part of a team, and being ready to lay down their life for country and their team mates. People like this are dangerous on a battlefield and to the esprit de corps and should not even be in the military.

When I went in there were plenty of NCO's and some officers that had combat patches and I never felt left out. Nobody in their right mind would ever want to go to combat just to get a patch! Those that were deployed should wear their patch with pride and not give a rats ass what some E1 and/or E2 snowflake thinks!

Let's also remove rank so slick sleeves don't feel inadequate while in the company of a MSgt. Anyone that wins a Silver Star of CMH shouldn't wear them so those of us that have never gone above and beyond don't feel bad. While we're at it let's stop training in the rain so all these candy-asses don't disolve. Aren't combat patches a required to wear if earned item? How can some desk-jockey order that regulations be ignored?

No, don't remove your legacy. I saw many with combat unit patches and that was during the end of Vietnam. Didn't affect me. They earned that right to wear that unit emblem and nobody has the right to tell them they can't wear it!

This is one of the most ridiculous things I have ever heard. These are the kind of people that need to be discharged. Their kind of thinking will get someone killed if they ever do end up in a combat zone. I can't say enough about how self centered and petty this is. You are there to do what is required of you and if you can't handle that then get the @#$% out. Like the guy said in original statement. If you want one, then go out and EARN one. This has to be some kind of communist idea to weaken the spirit of the troops. Well screw the damn commies and this idea of being oppressed. This really pisses me off. I have been deployed twice and I have earned my patch. If your butt hurt cause you dont have one ask for a deployment. Syria can use extra help along with Afghanistan. The fighting is fine come on in.

This is the most rediculous things I’ve ever read. Why in the hell would one even consider removing the patches. I recall my early years when the Vietnam veterans had combat patches, this was viewed with respect and reward for their sacrifices and the same should be true today. These young private’s should show respect for the combat veterans of all wars and shut their mouths. If they feel left out do something other then wine. This is a total sign of liberalism going to far! I will never remove my patch from my uniform as it still hangs in my closet bearing all my awards and citations 28 years after my retirement!
